Setsuna/Passion and Ellen/Beat having episodes to solve their relationship problems and own problems are absolutely normal to me. Itsuki/Sunshine learning to live more as a girl, surronded by girls and cute/girly things looks normal to me too.
And come on, the other characters had more than twenty episodes to appear and show their abilities and relationships. And it wasn't like they just forgot the past characters anyway.
Maybe 'cause Passion and Sunshine are my favorite cures of all (and Beat is almost reaching this point XD), but I don't think they got so much screen as I see people complaining. And people must don't forget that Pretty Cure is a show for children who needs to sell toys and other stuff - and needs to emphasizes the new characters.

As for the on topic discussion, yeah well, I like the new characters when they are introduced so I never complained about it. I wasn't an Eas fan, so Passion was nice. I loved Sunshine, and I really like what they are doing with Beat [though Ellen is a bit derpy sometimes].
