Today has been sort of busy. Or, just, well, full of random things.
Jacqui sent Mum an email and mentioned that I'm going to kill her. Why? Because she's seeing Avenue Q tonight. ahjdsjkashdjkasgdjkahsgdsa *green* When will it come to Australia? Or when will I be able to go overseas to see it? I'll just have to content myself with the soundtrack for the time being. :|
My aunt also called this evening. The aunt I have met, but have no memory of meeting because I was 18 months old. She spoke to Mum, and when Mum got off the phone her face was all "O_o" because my dad's sister refuses to be involved with any of the family... except that she knows a lot about us. Like the fact us kids are at university now, what suburb we live in and that Dad closed the company. My parents and I have a theory: She has hired spies to keep tabs on us.
Anyway, earlier today I went to the city with Tegs, one of my uni friends (After trains failing tremendously and getting into the city half and hour later than scheduled). We did a bit of shopping, and I tried to get the last two Christmas presents I need, but did the three bookstores have the book I want to get for my mum? Nope. Looks like I'll have to get it at work tomorrow on my break, provided it's there. Still, I bought a few tops and got the next Hana-Kimi volume.
Then, on the way home, the train I was going to catch was cancelled, so I had to wait around for the next one. Nothing big, but in the meantime it starts to pour and there is thunder and lightning. And I'm jumping around like a kid at Christmas, grinning while all the other passengers huddle under the centre of the platform to avoid the rain the wind is blowing under the roof!
The train home also epically failed, because of Caufield Station throwing a tantrum and causing problems, and flooding from the storm, as well as power failures. So, we kept stopping between stations. Southland, apparently, lost power for over an hour and everyone was kicked out. That and it was raining inside the building. Two trams were struck by lightning as well. And my Dad got stuck in the city because there were no trains running on the Sandringham Line, due to flooding, so he couldn't get back to his car. There is meant to be more of this weather tomorrow! And then 16 degrees Celcius on Saturday.
What is this 'summer'? I know of no such thing.
Only complaint about the rain: it damaged one of my Kate Forsyth books. I blow dried it earlier, and now it's being flattened under my sister's Jane Austen: The Complete Novels, my Sword of Shanara and the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy hardcovers. All books I am part way through reading, but stopped to reread the Kate Forsyth book. Hopefully there isn't too much lasting damage from the water.
I also broke my bag again. Not that I really repaired it in the first place. Staples are not suitable for permanent reatachment. I need to sew the strap properly, but knowing me, I'll use the stapler again. ^^;;
Working tomorrow night, all day Saturday and Monday afternoon (Not Sunday - family Christmas). Remember all this is right before Christmas. Insane customers, crazy stress. I'm loving my new manager though because she's awesome and essentially told me it wouldn't matter if I came in on New Years morning hungover, because the only customers in the store would be hungover too. Not to mention the rest of the staff. XD
There are a few movies coming out in the next few weeks that I want to see. 27 Dresses, Atonement, Enchanted, The Northern Lights Golden Compass, and P.S I Love You.
That's getting rather long, so I might cut it off here! :*
