[Action]
[After going for a
swim in the ocean in late December, Shirley and the rest of her housemates predictably developed pneumonia. Unfortunately, due to the nature of the experiment, they have no idea how they got sick. (Nor, for that matter, does Shirley really know why her kitchen is flooded with tarts.)
She's feeling much better than she has in a while, so she thought it might be a good idea to make a quick trip to the grocery store... because after holing up in the house for so long, they're running out of good soup-making ingredients, which is the only food that they have been able to keep (mostly) down. Unfortunately, Shirley kind of lives in the middle of nowhere and really far away from the grocery, so this wasn't the smartest plan she's had in a while. And she certainly can't ask Senel to go for her, because she needs to be more independent.
Currently, she's standing in an aisle of the grocery, still wrapped up in her hat, shawl, and scarf (because from her viewpoint, it's still very cold indoors) looking absolutely miserable and vaguely confused. She has a list in one hand and a basket held loosely in the other; the basket has some wrapped up chicken and vegetables in it.]
Chicken... celery... carrots... onions... ah, there's still -- [Her musing is interrupted by a sneeze.] Still... mmn.
