I'm baaaaaaaack!
I'm back from Florida! Actually, I've been back since Sunday but have been swamped with schoolwork all week. Teachers love to ruin spring break by making everything due the week after, haha.
I guess the best way to do this is to go day by day, lol.
Saturday - We flew out of Atlantic City International b/c it was almost $100 cheaper than PHL. Our flight was at 10:05am but the airport site said to get there 3 hours before the flight. So I woke up at 5am to make the drive over. When we got there, we were the only ones in the damn airport, haha. So we got through security in under 10 minutes and walked up to the terminal. There's only 7 terminals in the whole airport! I really didn't expect it to be that small, lol. Thank God our flight was on time (we flew Spirit). I have a few friends who flew out of there to Fort Myers and their flight was delayed. One thing about Spirit planes - they're smallllll! As in, you're cramped up with nowhere to go. I couldn't stretch or do anything until the flight was over - which was turbulent the entire way there. I was so nauseus after the flight :(
Sunday - TRIP TO CLEARWATER! It was awesome! The weather was beautiful - not hot, warm and breezy. We played the Yankees. Bobby Abreu wasn't there b/c he's hurt. But I saw PRATTY! I was so happy! I saw him out of the corner of my eye standing in the bullpen. Isn't it sad that I can tell it was him just by the way he stood? Haha. An obnoxious Yankee fan sat behind me and pretty much ruined the game for me. I had to sit there a hear him talk about how he was a great baseball player at 15 and he's 28 now, lol. Ugh, annoying. Anyway, the Phils lost, but I got to see Lieber's big ass truck. It's HUGE! We went to dinner at Shephard's which is on Clearwater Beach. Great food! A really nice view of the Gulf too!
Monday - Sea World day 1. We saw a few shows with seals and otters and dolphins and stuff. The highlight of the day was the Polar tour we took. I got to pet a penguin! It made my life - I'm obsessed with penguins, haha. My dad was pretty sick that night so me and mom went to Downtown Disney for dinner and shopping.
Tuesday - Sea World day 2. Nothing too exciting. Saw some more shows - Shamu and some Cirque de Soleil knock off, haha. Went to Charley's for dinner - if you like steak, go there. It's expensive though, but it's a tradition for us to go there and splurge for one night.
Wednesday - Our off day. We just hung around the resort since dad was still feeling pretty crappy. I went online, watched some tv, and laid out to get a tan. Cracker Barrel for dinner that night - I swear I've been to every one in the country, haha.
Thursday - Phils/Indians game. I was so excited b/c I figured I'd get to see Jason. Wrong. He was nowhere to be found, lol. I feel like I'm just not meant to see him play in an Indians uniform. I've 3 times to see him and all 3 times he didn't play. Thursday was really sad for me b/c that's when we found out that Vuk died. I guess you guys in Philly kinda knew it was coming, but I didn't even know he was sick again. When the Indians announcer said it I almost fell over. There was this big gasp throughout the ballpark. I felt so bad - the players looked devastated :(
One funny story from the game. An Idians player was up to bat and fouled a ball off the sprinkler that was on the Phils dugout side. the sprinkler went off and pretty much soaked anyone who was near it. All the sudden I see player running past me and everyone is laughing. I got a few pics of it too. I was hysterical! They turned it off but another ball was fouled off it and it went off again! They ended up having to shut off all the water in the ballpark from the 2nd or 3rd inning on. That meant no bathrooms - oh yea, it was a fun time, lol.
Oh, and the Phils lost that one too.
Friday - Another free day. We were supposed to go to a strawberry festival that was about an hour away and also see big & rich. We decided none of us felt like driving that far and opted to stay in. We mini-golfed and just hung out.
Saturday - We checked out of our place and went straight to the Astros stadium. We got there before the gates even opened but got to chat with other Phils fans. All they played at the stadium was stupid songs about Texas, lol. Oh, they played "Thriller" and Wes Helms was stretching to the beat of the music, lol. Shane Victorino stole home plate which was awesome to see. But the Phils lost this one too, in extra innings.
Went right to the airport to get our flight. our flight was delayed an hour so we didn't get into AC until midnight. By the time we got to our car and got home to Philly, it was after 2am. I was beat. But it was a fun trip. I can't wait to go back next year!
* I didn't get to talk to any of the players or coaches. But at the Cleveland game, Rod Barajas was standing right in front of me so I went to take his picture. He caught me snapping away, and posed for me, lol. And after the game Charlie Manuel was standing by himself (after the buses left). We thought he missed the bus, lol, until his finace pulled up. He apparently lives 10 minutes from Chain of Lakes. My dad said he would offer him a ride to Clearwater. i thought he was gonna embarrass me b/c he kept saying he would go to Ramon and tell him I was there. He really wanted me to introduce them, lol. everytime I tried to get to Ramon he's start warming up a pitcher or something, and I didn't wanna bother him :) *
So yeah, that's my trip in a nutshell. Long post, I know, lol.
