ooooh What A Week!

I guess I should say it has been a long couple of weeks recently-

I've gained more responsibility here at work- supervising the "younger admin staff" and doing even more things for my boss who has been made an executive director. About two weeks ago I was so stressed out from my job-of course one of the gals needs constant supervision and direction and all of that on top of my new duties was stressing me out!

I was also getting my house straightened up and ready for my husband's Aunt and cousin for a visit. That was just plain exhausting! My house had only the most basic of household tasks done for weeks so I was running around making sure that everything was as neat as I could. I even rearranged my guest bedroom/craft room. That poor room suffers for being a bedroom/craft room! However, it does look a million times cuter being rearranged in a new way. I wonder if I have enough money from this pay check to buy curtains for that room? hm...will have to check on that. That bedroom has a white ceiling that drops down on the edges (typical cape cod house) and two walls are deep purple and the lower walls that meet the dropped down ceiling are light purple/mostly lavender. i was thinking that sage colored curtains would be really nice in there; sort of a contrast.

So about Thursday of last week I'm on some kind of ledge where I feel like I'm about to explode from the stress of work and cleaning the house and we have our "big boss" visiting our location and he likes to "do crabs" when he is visiting our location (being "baltimore" and all) so this is pretty much a command performance- I scout out locations and find one that will take us on no notice and has great prices- $55.00 a dozen for Jumbos. I go and end up having a GREAT time. I usually am weird about seafood- I just don't appreciate it- but this time? I devoured the crabs and the peel and eat steamed shrip. Everything was so damn good! I'm proud of myself for opening up to seafood recently. maybe midwestern girls can branch out from beef and pork! :)

on Friday, after weeks of obsessing about getting a VW Beetle I test drove one! it was so much fun!!

Saturday we went with our house guests and my MIL to St. Michael's Maryland- hotter than blue blazes and so darn humid. the second you went outside your skin would be wet. It was pretty darn gross. My poor Aunt got sick after her lunch and we all felt so bad for her. We didn't even do any shopping- we ended up going home and sitting on our back porch with a fan on and just chatting and relaxing.

Sunday we got the afternoon off from our guests and I spent the entire afternoon reading on my back porch- so enjoyable! We went grocery shopping afterwards and when we got home found out that my sisters-in-law and various children got locked out of their car at Six Flags and needed the spare key at their Mom's house...do hubby and I had to go to his mom's house to get the spare key and we drove down past DC to bring the keys to them. Of course there were strong storms in the area and many accidents that blocked whole stretches of road and many traffic lights out of service. Finally got to Six Flags and delivered key to stranded family members.

On Tuesday Hubby and I went to a VW dealership and I came home with this:

I love this car so much!! I get to work and I'm sad that the drive is over, I get home and I'm sad the drive is over. it has a built in Sirius radio and I'm soooo addicted already! I have a sun roof and it rocks!
