Europe Day 21 - Part Five

Nov 26, 2013 10:51

It was a bit dismal when we left the Vatican, but not too bad.

We wandered Saint Peter’s Square for a bit, which is a circle by the by.

Actually we walked through here earlier in the day, when we were trying to find the entrance to the museum.

Then is started to clear up!

We were getting hungry so we wanted to go find food but we passed Castel Sant ‘Angelo, where apparently various Popes have lived.

And we decided to go in!

My entrance ticket says it was 6:10, and the place closed at 7:30 or 8, I don’t remember, so we zoomed all around it 8D

I loved the look of the natural stone morphing into a castle. Very cool!

Canon balls~

On top of the wall around the castle.

Getting rusty

A view from the wall.

All the layers! Like a cake :D

E taking pics.

This made me think of Labyrinth 8D (actually, it doesn’t take much….)

Meeeeee

Cool statue!

And another!

Even more painted ceilings!

How cool is that?

Parting shot of the building. We stayed until they kicked us out, and then wandered looking for someplace to eat that had wifi because of some last minute changes in plans required me to e-mail-fu.

We found a pizza place, because we felt we had to have pizza in Italy!

It was very good

And just walking back to the hostel we saw more cool things.

Then we totally crashed. End day 21, finally!
If you click any of those photos it will take you to my Rome gallery, were there are TONS more pics 8D
