More travel musing

Jul 27, 2012 08:09

As we know, showers are very conducive to thinking. So my thought last night was... I'm making a ballgown in the Regency style. Okay, obviously I knew I was doing that. But what hit me was... one does not wander around Bath in a ballgown.
I need a day dress, a spencer, and a bonnet.
I don't know that I have time for that ;___;

Well then I thought, no one else will notice. It will pain me, but really, when will I be in Bath again? (Soon I hope)

So then I sat down to actually look at what I want to do/where I want to go in this dress. And discovered... I happen to be there during the 2012 Jane Austen Festival. :O

The plus: I probably won't be the only costumer wandering about and being dorky
The negative: The people I come across will likely know that no proper lady wanders about in a ball gown, and without a spencer and bonnet, oh the shame. The impropriety. Simply ghastly.

There's a distinct possibility I may try to rectify this vulgarity in the weekend before I leave...

So!
More travel dilemmas. The first directly related to the above.

This haircut is something I've wanted for a loooong time:

And not just because Amanda is sexy and has a sword.

So my logic was, getting this done right before leaving would be best as then I have super short hair for travel, and wouldn't have to worry about any job interview potential prejudice.

But! Then I'd have to get a wig for Bath times, and pretty short notice.
This is my most recent hair cut:

And I quite like it. Though it's a bit longer than this now.
Dilemma.

... I'm leaning towards the cutting/bleaching anyway and just finding a last minute wig in a local shop.
