The 3 events, held between September and December 2019, feature a range of activities that will enhance connections and collaborations between Asia and Europe whilst incorporating interdisciplinary themes. Through these projects, ASEF’s Culture Department continues to reach out to diverse arts communities to ensure that they have equal access to important dialogues between Asia and Europe. culture360.ASEF.org is the only platform offering easy access to relevant and reliable information for individual artists, arts organisations and policymakers across the Asia-Europe Meeting (ASEM) region and beyond. This role as a facilitator of information between Asia and Europe is increasingly important, where use of online technologies promoting global connectivity will only increase. The media partnerships are part of culture360.ASEF.org’s on-going commitment to ensuring public access to information and to protecting fundamental freedoms, in accordance with national legislation and international agreements (SDG #16). From 19 to 21 September 2019, TodaysArt 2019, the Netherlands’ longest running international festival for art, music and technology will present its 15th edition in the Hague. Featuring audiovisual performances, installations, live electronic music, talks and panel discussions, the festival aims to push the boundaries of digital arts. In the last week of September 2019, the 3rd edition of the Asia Peace Film Festival will commemorate this year’s International Peace Day by celebrating the historic city of Lahore in Pakistan through the medium of film. Lastly, the Widening Circles: Pickle Factory Season 2, an international dance festival including arts education and community outreach activities in various venues across Kolkata, India, will take place in the month of November 2019. Through these partnerships, culture360.ASEF.org looks forward to supporting more digital, collaborative, interdisciplinary and cross-sectoral events in the arts & culture of the ASEM region in 2019.
