Desperate to think about something other than my job, I just sneaked out to look at the news.

President Obama rescinded the Mexico City Policy, allowing money to spent on contraceptive services where it's most needed.

I've never watched the presidential inauguration before, I'm not sure why. I watched President Obama* take the oath of office this morning, mostly because it was on the TV screens at work. I set the Tivo to record the festivities, and maybe I'll watch it tonight, or at least let it run while I fuss about the house this evening.

I drove past the United Methodist Church in Palo Alto today. They have a banner up, and since I read church signs, I read it as I drove by. White letters on a black background said Torture is Wrong.
