Summary: With his entire future planned out for him Yoochun has lead a predictable life until the day he met Junsu, a shut-in who hasn’t left his room for many years in a row. Throw in some excessively random colleagues, insane friend and growing forbidden feelings and all of a sudden Yoochun’s life seems to get more complicated than it has ever been.

“Care to explain yourself?”

When Junsu had turned around and left yesterday, right after messing up Yoochun’s capability to think straight for good, Taeyeon had kept outstandingly quiet for the rest of the day. In all his naivety, his hazed happy-bouncy-puppy state probably had had something to do with it, Yoochun had been stupid enough to assume Taeyeon wouldn’t push the subject any further. But of course she did.

“I met him over the internet,” Yoochun spoke quietly, sitting on his knees in front of his uncle while refusing to look up at him. He swallowed. In his mind the war went on: Junsu vs. Marriage, family, inheritance, apartment and job. The fact that he was even vaguely considering throwing his life away for just one person proved enough. Why hadn’t he noticed that his feelings had been escalating this much?

“We became close friends quickly but…” he almost couldn’t bring himself to say it, “there’s nothing more than friendship coming from my side. ”

“Well that ‘friend’ of yours sure seems to think otherwise,” Taeyeon scoffed from besides him, her arms folded as she stared out the window angrily. Yoochun could understand her anger, a little, but if she just for one second could shut her mouth it would save him a hell of a lot of trouble.

His uncle looked at him as if waiting for an answer.

“It won’t happen again,” Yoochun said, not sure of what was expected of him.

“And how’re you going to do that, huh?” Taeyeon asked, and appeared as if she was about to either cry or cause a stampede, “fuck him until he understands?”

That didn’t sound like such a bad idea.

“Don’t you think I don’t know what’s going on between you two!”

Yoochun just stared back at her, his face blank. The face he usually used when he had been busted but still refused to admit he had done something wrong.

“You both disgust me!”

“Taeyeon-ah, that’s enough,” his uncle intervened sternly. She looked as if she was about to start screaming but his uncle started talking before she could. “Your feelings are more than understandable, but you’re taking this too harsh. It’s a stressful period for my nephew and not everyone has the ability to be as accepting of their path as you are,” he smiled at her warmly, “he is just going through a phase. As soon as the two of you get married, he will be all yours.”

Yoochun resumed his staring at the floor again. A phase? Was that it? It would really lighten things up a bit if it was. But then was it a phase for Junsu as well?

“It’s only two weeks until the wedding, Taeyeon-ah, why don’t you give him some freedom for the time being?”

Yoochun knew his uncle was being exceptionally mild, but he somehow couldn’t get himself to feel thankful.

“But I can’t!” Taeyeon really was crying now. “If it was a girl I could accept it but not… not that… that guy. The thought alone, it’s just revolting! I don’t want to marry someone like that.”

Yoochun looked up, did he spot a flicker of hope there?

“He’s even allowed to have a bachelor party for all I care, but I want him to break off all the contact with that guy immediately!”

“You’re being a little bit of a bitch about this…” Yoochun muttered before he could stop himself.

“Park Yoochun,” his uncle snapped, his eyes making it very clear that Yoochun should shut up if he knew what was best for himself.

“And I want him to apologize as well,” Taeyeon rambled on, completely ignoring Yoochun, “and I want him to force that guy to apologize and…”

“That’s enough, both of you,” his uncle intervened, annoyed. “Yoochun, you have until the wedding to clearly tell this friend that he made a mistake and break off contact with him. Your future wife is obviously not comfortable with it and I hope you value her over this internet friend. Now Taeyeon-ah, I can see how uncomfortable this makes you, but you have to give my nephew a chance to deal with his own problems. You’re going to regret it later if you don't. Give him until the wedding, if it’s still not fixed by then I’ll make sure,” he looked at Yoochun sternly, “to fix it for you. Is that clear?” he added, addressing Yoochun.

Yoochun bit down on his lip and nodded. Breaking off contact with Junsu probably was for the best. At least he wouldn’t get tempted anymore… Just how he was going to do that without hurting the one he cared about most was the problem.

---

That night Yoochun spent hours contemplating what to say, finally deciding on a very simple message that read: Hey Su, we need to talk, can I visit you someday soon?

He had purposefully typed it close to midnight, thinking that Junsu was probably asleep already, but he received a message back not much later anyway.

-Oh my god, I’m so sorry, I totally don’t know why I did that and what’s wrong with me and I blame the medication! And omg I just… I’m sorry ;-; please forgive me… ;-;-

Yoochun almost flinched at the message. Why was it always like this? If Junsu for once just got really angry with him, or went into utter uncaring bitch mode, it would make this all a lot easier. Now he felt like the meanest person alive, kicking an already beaten puppy. He wished he could just hold Junsu and protect him from everything, but he knew he was no longer qualified to do this. Junsu now had other people who took care of him, he could do this without Yoochun. The faster he got this over with the better it would be for the both of them. Right?

At first he just wanted to type something short, but he ended up spilling the story of  the entire evening in one mail, pressing send quickly before he would delete it again. He took a deep breath and waited. Now Junsu was up to date. He knew about his uncle and Taeyeon and about why he had to break off contact. He would surely understand… would he? Of course he would understand, Junsu had always been understanding…

But after an hour there was still no message from Junsu. Nor was there the next morning, or the day after that. For over a week it remained completely silent. It wasn’t like they’d met up in real life that often lately, but not receiving an “^.^” in the morning or “-.-“ before bedtime made him really miss Junsu, even more than he’d like to admit. As the days passed by his mood grew worse and more and more of his co-workers started to avoid him like the plague. But there was always one who couldn’t read someone’s emotions even if they were written all over their face.

“Yah, pervert master,” Changmin started as he hop-sat on top of the front desk, “yah yah yah yah yah…”

“Changmin, unless you’re wishing for a painful death I suggest you piss off,” Yoochun snapped, annoyed. Jaejoong had called in sick today, last minute, so he had enough work as it was.

“Only because I have the most epic proposition in the history of mankind I’ll ignore what you just said,” Changmin grinned as he leaned over Yoochun’s computer to see what he was doing. “Omo, you aren’t actually working now are you?”

“Aish,” Yoochun exclaimed and pushed Changmin unceremoniously off the desk. But instead of getting the hint the guy just bounced up like a cockroach that refused to die.

“Your wedding is next week right?” Changmin said, hopping.

“I don’t need a reminder…”

“So, what are you waiting for? I’d say it’s bachelor party time~” the moment Changmin had said it he started a wild move, something Yoochun would identify as a deranged person on the loose or a wild animal starting his mating ritual. “So,” Changmin said once he was done, “because I know you are too busy pretending to be busy I already arranged something for you, are you free tomorrow?”

“I’m not.”

“You are, I checked your schedule.”

Yoochun sighed as he looked up from his computer. “Then why do you even ask?”

“Formality, Yoochun, formality. Haven’t you learned anything here?” Changmin rolled his eyes at him. “Anyways, tomorrow, at 8pm, you… will be here…”

“I won’t.”

“And the go-go girls will be here.”

“I… what? In the hotel? Jaejoong would never…”

“Oh he already has,” Changmin smiled proudly at himself, “all a matter of timing. I saw him and Yunho talking, and he was smiling, and then he was doing that really girly-gay motion of hiding his smile behind his hands, I really don’t get why Yunho thinks that’s cute but oh well… and… what was I talking about again? Oh yeah, and then I ninja-asked him while he was too busy swooning over the guy and then…”
“Is there actually a point to this story?”
“And then he said yes, sorta… now that I think about it, I’m not even sure if he said yes to me or Yunho, but who cares! I already hired them,so there will be go-go girls.”

“That’s lovely, but I’m still not interested.”

“I already thought that, unlike the rest of the staff, you wouldn't be swayed that easily,” Changmin nodded, “so I invited someone special.”

Yoochun looked up, obviously more interested now. “Who did you invite?”

“That’s a secret~”

“Fine.”

“So you’re coming?”

“… yeah, I suppose so…”

“Awesome! Now, the theme is rise of the porno and…”

“I think it’s better if you stop talking now before I change my mind,” Yoochun intervened.

“Ah yeah… ok, well… I’ll just go now,” Changmin saluted and bounced off again.

---

When Changmin said he had arranged a bachelor party for him, Yoochun should have known it would be extravagant. However, the party was not just extravagant, but one hundred percent over-the-top-way-too-much-to-even-be-fun extravagant. Changmin had not only hired go-go girls but also male strippers, several dj’s, bartenders and drinkmixers, a light specialist and a folk singer, to meet to every guest's need. And about the guests… Yoochun was pretty sure he didn’t know over half of them, and with every new person he greeted he started to wonder more and more if he knew anyone at all. Except for his co-workers that was.

“Yah, Jae,” he yelled, and waved as he finally spotted a familiar face.

“Hey, Yoochun, you’re also here? Now that’s a coincidence,” Jaejoong smiled as he pulled Yoochun out of the crowd.

“Aish, shut it,” Yoochun replied, annoyed, as he tried to fix his clothes, “this time I seriously am not responsible!”

Jaejoong smiled more broadly now, “I know. As soon as I saw the folksinger I realized it was Changmin. Enjoying the party?”

Yoochun pulled a face, making it pretty obvious what he though of the party. He never had been the party type, but that wasn’t the problem. It was this damned crowd that was the problem, how was he ever supposed to find Junsu like this?

“You’re looking for someone?” Jaejoong asked as he spotted Yoochun’s searching eyes.

“Yeah… have you seen Changmin?”

Jaejoong looked over the many people and then pointed at the bar. There Changmin was, in the center, playing the judge of some kind of very soon to be escalating drinking game.

“Ok never mind,” Yoochun sighed, “have you seen Junsu?”

“Junsu?” Jaejoong asked, surprised, “is he here? This doesn’t really seem like the place for him…”

“No I suppose it isn’t… But Changmin said he had invited someone for me so I just presumed…”

Jaejoong eyed him oddly. “He didn’t say anything about him to me. I think he meant someone else.”

“Someone else?” Yoochun asked, a little crestfallen. The faint glimmer of hope that he had at least one last chance to meet up with his friend faded out and made him feel more lonely than ever.

“Yeah, I know who but… I’m not sure if I’m… oh,” Jaejoong said as he looked towards the bar. “I’m so sorry, I’ll have to go restrain him before he… Yah, Changmin!” Changmin was now helping a very drunk minor strip on top of the bar, the crowd below cheering with every piece of clothing that disappeared as Jaejoong disappeared in the crowd.

Yoochun took a deep breath and turned around. If Junsu wasn’t going to be here, than what was the use of staying? A little more roughly than strictly necessary he pushed his way through the guests. He had almost reached the entrance doors at the far end when someone halted him.

“Park Yoochun?” a faintly recognizable voice said. Yoochun turned around and saw someone who… he had never seen before.

“Yes?”

“Shhh,” the man said and looked around carefully, “if he finds out I’m here, I’m seriously going to get murdered.” He motioned for Yoochun to follow him outside.

The second they were out of sight of the party the man turned around, his face more serious now.

“You’ve got a hell of a lot of explaining to do.”

Yoochun just stared at him blankly. Even though the voice really did sound vaguely familiar, he had to admit, he had absolutely no idea who this guy was. “I’m sorry, you are?”

The guy’s face changed from indignant to comprehending so quickly it was almost funny. “Oh, yeah logical of course, I’m Hyukjae, Junsu’s best friend,” he stuck his hand out in a formal handshake, but Yoochun didn’t take it.

“Junsu’s friend? Is he here?” He asked, and grabbed Hyukjae’s shoulder before he realized it. “Where?”

“No… he’s not,” Hyukjae said, releasing himself from Yoochun’s grip before he took a step back. “Are you always this… touchy feely?” He eyed him almost accusingly, obviously very aware of what had happened between Yoochun and Junsu.

“I-I’m sorry,” Yoochun muttered, and took a step back.

“That’s ok, you’re just excited because I'm giving you a chance to meet your princess in distress, I understand.”

Yoochun blinked at him, he was pretty sure Junsu would not appreciate being called princess in distress, but it was probably for the best not to comment on it until he had found out what the guy wanted.

“As you know, Junsu spends the weekends at my place…”

Yoochun nodded. He had had no idea, but he sure as hell wasn’t going to whine about it now.

“And he’s at my place now… and he heard about this party… and he’s being an annoying bitch about it,” Hyukjae eyed him like it was all his fault, and in a way it probably was.

“Ok…”

“Agh, you’re just as slow as he is,” Hyukjae sighed, “now is the time for you to call him and tell him he should come. Then he’ll quit going all ‘but we’re so awkward now and he doesn’t want to see me and I’ll just cause more trouble’ and I can actually sleep.”

“He… actually wants to meet me?” Yoochun asked, the little butterfly in his stomach coming to life again.

“Oh… my god. Give me your phone,” Hyukjae demanded and stuck out his hand. Obediently Yoochun handed over his phone to him, not realizing what Hyukjae could do with as he was too occupied with daydreaming about a certain someone. “Here you go,” Hyukjae said when he had finished. “I typed him a message saying you suffer from serious sexual frustration and need his cute little duckbutt over here right now. Give him five minutes… max.”

“You said what?!” as quickly as he could Yoochun took back his phone and opened his sent messages.

“Now, if you could just clear things up with him it would save me a hell of a lot of whining,” Hyukjae said, and clapped Yoochun on the shoulder before he turned around and left.

Too preoccupied with his phone Yoochun didn’t even notice. He opened the last sent message.

-I miss you, please come- with the hotel’s name underneath it.

“That’s… not so bad,” he said to himself, closed the phone, and stuffed it away. As he took the first step back towards the hotel, he realized one thing, however; even after over a week, he still had no idea what to say to Junsu.
