Shadow Complex = Metroidvania with No Replayability

So, a few years back, I picked up the Metroidvania game Shadow Complex.

I never finished it, and I decided to restart the game from scratch today to go through it.

Except when I started a new game, I noticed I had a view of the entire map.

Thinking this was a bug, I deleted my saved game. Then I deleted the Shadow Complex game and reinstalled it. Then I deleted my gamer profile (and all saved games on my 360) and reloaded my GamerTag from the Internet.

Turns out, this is an intentional "feature" and that it saves your map to your GamerTag.

I think I'd recommended this game to people in the past, but I now find I have to disrecommend this title because the exploration part of replaying it is completely gone. There's no "look for secret rooms" stuff like other Metroidvania games because if you've ever discovered them in a previous game they stay discovered for any new games on this GamerTag.

Which leaves me with exactly one choice: Start the game on a new GamerTag. Which means I'll be perpetually stuck at 80/200 points on my main profile, because I'll never get the remaining achievements for it.
