I finished my first day of work. It really was quite tiring. The whole day I was running around shooting soccer games. Something like 9 games total, but I moved between fields constantly. It was fun though. I got to play around with a Canon 20D and 70-200/2.8 L--I love that lens for sports. It's heavy but people know you mean business when you carry it around. I tried to get people's attention when I walked by. I smiled for the parents of these athletic children--many of whom seemed eager to purchase some memento from the game.
Parents continually asked me to keep a look out for their kid. It was nice though, I got some compliments for my shooting from parents. It's nice to hear that people appreciate my photos. My boss said sarcastically, you're getting your ego up already on your first day.
I've been getting the hang of the machines to get the photos printed. I don't really like that part of the job, but that's where we get the money apparently. We get a piece of commissions. And since this week we had a bunch of sales and not too many workers I am getting paid a lot for one day. Something like $20/hour. Yay.
But I look kinda dark now because I was walking around all day in the sun. I should bring sun screen next time. My Tita Loi joked that if this is what I look like after the first day, by the end of summer I will look like charcoal.
