First real published picture

The good news is I got published in the Alligator today. The bad news is I think there is a fact error. The name in the paper reads "Elaine Lei," but I believe the correct spelling is "Elaine Li."

I actually typed "Elaine Li," but I saw in the article that it was mispelled as well. I think that my photo editor may have changed the spelling because that is how the article spelled it. And I suppose the reporter is the deciding factor because it is their job specifically to report. My job is basically compose pictures and write a brief cutline, which is often changed slightly as it was in today's paper.

So this fact error was not my fault, but it still bears my name.

I checked the brochure they handed out and facebooked her and it seems like my spelling was correct, but it was changed.

It sort of takes the joy out of the picture because I have a fact error. That's -50 in journalism classes.

But whatever, I still got like 7 copies of today's Alligator. I kept flipping back and forth from the first page and the third page (the page with my picture).
