there's different websites like crowdrise, kickstarter, that sort of thing. I just find projects that I like. With the ones mentioned above there was a Pottsy connection. Following them on twitter they mentioned the projects and I hopped on board. Haven't met Pottsy yet, somehow I don't think I ever will. Got close once at the Dracula play, but missed my opportunity by being a coward. :(
With the Midnight of My Life project, I was following Phil Davis on twitter and again he mentioned he was doing a short film on Steve Marriott. Martin Freeman wasn't attached to it at that point, but I like Steve and I thought it sounded like a great project.
All the crowdfunding campaigns generally have some great perks for your support. Depending how much you can give, you can really luck out.
Check out these top ten crowdfunding sites if you'd like to give it a go: http://www.crowdfunding.com/ You can pick actors or directors you like and just support them(as I do with PJ Harling) or you can pick a type of project you like and go that route.
Do Keychain not offer any meet the folks type perks?
It sounds fascinating, thanks. The only thing I've crowdfunded is a research project into friendship bonds in dwarf mongooses! I have adopted a three legged mongoose called Hermia.
OMG how cool is that? I used to really love mongoose(s?) when I was younger. I blame Rikki Tikki Tavi for that. :)
Keychain doesn't offer squat. LOL Andrew just begs for money all the time. He uses it for his webseries Wireless, but still ... I think he'd get a lot more if he focused a bit better.
Yeah, it really does. Makes people think you're not grateful for all of the support. Also, if you promise something then you need to follow through with it. He had a contest awhile back and part of the 'win' was a Skype chat, that never happened with the winner. That's just disappointing all around.
I'll check out the fb page for the info. Not sure my kitty Finn would be too happy with a mongoose loose in the house. LOL

That's daft, you can't just ask for money all the time and not give anything back. That just pisses people off.
