Pottsfanatic turns producer???

Well, here I am again. Tonight I thought I'd talk a bit about some of the filmy type stuff that I've been doing.

I've been really having fun doing the Producer thing(well helping out a bit at any rate). I've helped fund quite a number of projects over the last several years and been able to meet some really cool people. I think meeting James Moran, PJ Harling and Chris Richmond were definitely highlights.

Both Primeval writer Steve Bailie and I helped to fun James' project called 'Crazy for You'. A quirky horror/love story that only James could do. It stars Arthur Darvill and was just too intriguing to pass up. I even got to spend the day with James just hanging out and generally being treated like a VIP all day. James and I had lunch and had some amazing conversation. The dude is just super cool.

PJ Harling invited me(and a couple friends) to the screening of his film FARE. PJ has directed Andrew Lee Potts in a few of his movies (The Dipper, The Morning After) and that's how he came to my attention. I found out he was doing this movie FARE and it looked really cool so I said 'I'm in' and that was that. I met several of the actors, the writer and the composer at the screening as well as PJ himself. Who was very welcoming and gave us all big hugs. I still talk with him quite regularly about what he's up to and how things are going. He's currently working on what sounds like a great project and he's hoping to get some really awesome star power interested in the leads. I'm crossing my fingers for him. He really is a sweet man and deserves much success.

Finding another project through Andrew, 'Drone Strike', directed by Chris Richmond is a very topical story about Drones and fighting a war from thousands of miles away. Chris also invited me(as well as a few friends) to come visit his office in London and we ended up going out to a pub just down the way and having a nice long chat. Super nice fellow. I'm so proud that the film has done really well on the festival circuit winning quite a number of Laurels as well as the top honours for short film at the 2014 Beverly Hills Film Festival.

The latest is a short film about Small Faces and Humble Pie front man Steve Marriott called 'Midnight of My Life'. It's about to start filming within the next couple of weeks and will be directed by actor Phil Davis. It'll star none other than Martin Freeman as Steve and I'm really looking foward to seeing how it turns out.

There are others too. Not to mention the money that continues to go to Keychain Productions for their myriad of projects. (that may end soon though)

There was some other stuff I was going to cover, but this post got away from me a bit and is much too long for what I really wanted to post so Sherlock(ed) will have to wait for another day.
Next Up: Sherlocked(maybe??)
