Mother's Day Weekend
It rained. All Weekend.
I was sort of sick getting over a cold.
On Saturday, I took the day off to get better and take care of Hope who is also a little under the weather; but one would have to be very ill to be under this weekend's weather.:)
It was absolutely wonderful.
I went early to the church to drop off a pie and if felt like Christmas. The men were saying, "Can I help you?" (In other words, "What are you doing here? Please leave.")
With much excitement and anticipation, I dropped my box of cello pieces off at my Dad's house(along with Melody's whole cello as an 'ensample' ''as the KJV calls it'', and a lovely large piece of rhubarb strawberry custard pie as a bribe - no, a treat) "Help me, Dad, your my only hope... Help me Obiwa.."
He is apprehensive about the outcome, but I feel like buying the strings already. What is this faith that daughters have in their fathers?
Flowers: Hope and I got marigolds at the grocery store, Jesse picked out my red geranium at the church, I bought basil plants in Preston when we went to the restaurant.
My own grandmother, my own mother, my own 2 sisters, my Hope, and 2 nieces.
It was a lovely rainy time. I had the famous toasted bacon grinder. I could take it or leave it - being at heart more or less vegetarian (but I had to try it)
On Saturday I tried to watch a movie (I finally got through it) but it was "interrupted" 4 times by calls from family. I am an extremely blessed mother! I would not have it any other way. I got to talk to Isaac who called from the grrr beach. If I were there I would have thrown him in... HAHA
(not for interrupting me, but for being in 85 degree sunny weather at the beach)
The ladies' banquet was indescribable so I won't try to describe it, but I think when you see your own beloved fellow-parishoners who are getting on in years learn to do a softshoe routine and then breakdance, it is something to appreciate. Funny if you did not know them - hysterical if you do. And Jesse...
On Sunday, after teaching Sunday School and going out with mom and sisters etc, I came home with a pepperoni pizza for the guys, started a fire in the stove, and relaxed. alot.
So, pretty nice weekend I think.
I never thought I could write a megapost like my daughter-in-law does. I don't get bored with hers; I hope no one gets bored if they read mine through.
