Peter Pan lives!
6 big and hungry boys visited my home this weekend to celebrate Jesse's birthday.
They had every sort of real-looking weapon and were shooting a movie which was spontaneously unfolding as the plot basically built upon itself. But when androids fail to die and menacingly lurch toward guerrilla-style rebel forces in order to secure the place of disco in the universe, you know you are in for a trip.
The most wonderful part is that age 14-17 they had not forgotten how to play. No one took over although Jesse basically directed it. The ideas flowed equally and everyone played an important heroic role.
What is more; kids get highschool credits by signing up for cinema courses that teach what Jesse is learning by himself and with Melody as he seeks to edit and apply music to this movie which he has worked tirelessly on all weekend.
He said (in a sort of toast) to the boys that this was his best birthday ever.
My toast is - May they all never lose the ability to play.
