I hope it's a troll as well, but having dealt with these people in real life I know that they think they are God's gift from heaven when it comes to evangelizing people to accept his word, but in reality they are twisting his word on its head. One of the issues here is that they've labeled all witches and wizards as being the witches and wizards that are banned by the bible, when in reality they are not. It's not even Wiccan or Druidism. This said, the writers who make it out to be Wiccan or Druidism doesn't help the misconceptions.

I'm actually a Christian and I work with kids and the subject of Harry Potter came up. A couple of them were freaked out because they felt they were doing something wrong by reading Harry Potter and even watching Charmed because of the subject matter of "witches" and another student had said they never, ever would read the Harry Potter books. Myself and the other kid had to alleviate their fears that there is a difference between reality and fantasy and that it was a personal choice on the part the one kid as they were simply not comfortable reading the series. I've seen others though condemn the series and those who read it, so I don't normally talk about it with other Christians unless others bring it up. It's like condemning Lord of the Rings, or Chronicles of Narnia... and yes... there are Christians who do have issues with even these works.

I have no trouble whatsoever in believing there are people in the world who think like this and would want to rewrite the HP books for their kids for those reasons. I can see this being written by someone with limited creativity and writing skills who's never read the books, but has just heard some keywords like "Hagrid", "Gryffindor", "Sorting Hat" and vague concepts like "Slytherins are bad", "McGonagall is second-in-charge to Dumbledore" and worked with that. However, what I have more trouble understanding is why they'd post it on the Pit if they really wanted to reach a broader audience of Christian (or their own very specific idea of Christian) parents, when it might be better received on a religious website. That said, it could just be because they have no real understanding of what the fanfiction community is like, and they just posted it on the first site they came across that would cater for it.
