I decided to play a game of “follow the reviews” since writers have a habit of liking stories similar to their own but yesterday's story dead ended so I decided to jump back to the reviews on Misguided by Jenevieve.k. The game ends when I can't find any stories that haven't been featured. Featured may or may not include the sequels to certain ( Read more... )

I wish people would avoid the whole natural animangus thing. In other fandoms it is believable (like Bleach) but not Harry Potter. And even with Bleach I'm going to admit we don't know if Yourichi's cat form is natural or the exact details of Komamura's clan either.

The person who linked them is thirteen so they didn't know that it is against the rules here to link the writers to the entry.

Don't worry. We've been getting a lot of new readers so I fell it's time I draw up the rules and take advantage of the sticky feature for the blog.

This incident could have been avoided had you asked yourself if what you were doing was going to have actual consequences, not only for the author of that story, but also for the community that Potter Sues is trying to keep and maintain.

From the looks of things on that review page, you actually reviewed that story three times with the intention of bringing this journal into a bad light and cause drama.

I had to take a double take when I read "Feramorph".

Alright, so this character can transform herself into animals both magical and non-magical- is that even possible in the Potter verse? I know you can't transform naturally into an animal form, but I don't think you can transform into a magical animal like a unicorn or a griffin or... a basilisk... or whatever HP creature is in existence in the book.

I believe that is the only thing that I have to say for right now.

Nope. It's the writer wanting to give their character a super cool power because it's... well... cool.

Small credit for using a proper prefix. "Fera" means wild beast, so "Feramorph" is an appropriate term.
I could accept a natural animagus if it actually served some purpose in the story. I'm fairly certain this won't. The ability to mimic magic abilities of the animals, though... It'd have to be really important to the story for me to swallow that.
That this ability gets her classified as a half-breed makes no sense at all.

Considering the fact I can't think of anything that would be a good reason other then it being a crossover... the answer is no. I have a character who is visiting Hogwarts from another fandom who runs around spying on them in her natural animagus which happens to be a black cat during Harry's second year. And no... she's not spying on them for the bad guys but for an over protective family member.

I didn't notice the half-breed until you pointed out. No... wouldn't make her a half breed.
