I honestly don't understand why anyone would want to be in the HP series. There's magic, but what good does that do them? Their lives are mostly miserable, with good patches thrown in.
i can give a reason...alteration_duckJune 28 2010, 15:30:04 UTC
first off, their lives are mostly miserable In the book because, before the book even started there had been the end of a war. when dumbledore was young there was another war, and harry has to deal with another War
( ... )
I can understand why someone might want to be in the wizarding world, but I wouldn't want to be in the HP series. They have to face dangerous situations, creatures, and people and still do their homework on time!
So yes, I agree with you. Being a witch, somewhere removed from the war? Awesome. Being Harry's sister? =/= fun.
For one reason, and one reason only: adventure. Epic, inspiring, pulse-pounding, gut-wrenching, suspenseful, enlightening adventure--with all the heartwarming aspects of loyalty and camaraderie thrown in. A sort of metaphor for the human condition and all that jazz.
Oh, and the fact that magic/fantasy is involved helps. ~Dev
