So wait; She acts like a pureblood rather than a Potter, but the Potters were pureblood, and she has the pureblood features of her father, who is a Potter...

potter = pureblood = pureblood mentality =/= Potter mentality
potter = potter mentality
potter = pureblood =/= potter

My math teacher says that this FAILS. You can't say you have a pureblood mentality, rather than a Potter mentality, if the Potter-line is pureblood.

And Mummy and Daddy are still alive, but Harry still has the scar. What, did he smack his forehead on the sliding glass doors as a tot? He was just destined to have a scar on his forehead no matter what?

I thought because of Lily, Harry was...like a tarnished pureblood, since Lily was a muggleborn witch or something. I'm sure he mentions something to the effect of that in GoF, HBP, or DH.

yeah, Harry is a half-blood. James is pureblood, but any children he has (Harry and AU-spawn) will be half-blood. so it depends if you are talking about "the Potters" as James and his parents and grandparents etc., or "the Potters" as a pureblood, a Muggleborn, and two (in this case) half-bloods.

zoreta, I assume the Suethor was going for a "Potter mentality" in the same way as a "Weasley mentality" of being known Muggle-lovers/blood traitors... but that kind of reinforces your point that pureblood mentality is not a thing if pureblood families don't always have it!

That's a lot of 'pureblood' in one message O_o zoreta June 28 2010, 13:22:50 UTC
This is so hysterical, how she is so pureblood, while she is not a pureblood at all! In pureblood the key word is PURE. They blood is PURE because there's no muggle blood in it. So, you can't be a PURE blood if your blood is not 100% pure. How can you be half-pure blood? That makes no sens! :( If you are half-pureblood that just means you're not a pureblood at all. Poore Sue got everything mixed up! She's kinda like a white person who tries to act like a stereotypical black person (and that always looks just pathetic).. It's so funny xD
Btw what are "pureblood features" anyway? I had no idea you could recognize purebloods just by the way they look! Silly me, that's racism 101! xD

Technically, she never says she's pureblood, just that she "acts like a pureblood", has "pureblood features", and has a "pureblood facade." This of course, makes purebloods sound a lot more uniform than they are. After all, Arthur Weasley and Lucius Malfoy are both purebloods*, but could not be more different.

The only phrase I'd really accept here would be a "pureblood mentality", which implies a Malfoy-ish attitude about how purebloods are better than the rest (with Voldemort levels of hypocrisy, given that she's a half-blood).

* As Ron points out in one of the early books, it's unlikely that anyone, even the Malfoys, don't have at least some muggle blood in them.

How can you be half-pure blood?

She's like a labradoodle. She's a mutt, but you still have to pay out the ass for her. ;)
