"Honey is twenty years my junior, only she is still yet to have her fifteenth birthday in August."

Forgive me for not knowing the details of Snape's age, but does 34-35 sound plausible?

And anyway, does a 14 year old marrying a 35 year old sound plausible? COntinuing on, what about the concept of a Yough Angel? Does anything make sense?

Well, is this during Harry's years at hogwarts? If so then yeah, mid to late 30's sounds right for Snape. He was born in 1960 or 1959. Still, it's incredibly creepy to marry a 14 year old. Just once I would love Chris Hanson from Dateline NBC to pop out of a broom cupboard and confront these pervy old men

And no, youth angel doesnt really make sense.

In England? No. However I believe there were two girls under 9 that sued for divorce a year or so ago. They had been married off to old dudes that were at least 50 years old. And of course there are some polygamous groups that marry off girls in their mid teens to adult men. The suethor might be taking a cue from some of these arranged marriage tales considering that Honey's father put her under a "betrothal spell" from birth. Pretty icky if you ask me.

It's just, just possible, I think. Scotland only introduced an age limit to marriage in 1977 (before that, young English couples would often elope to Gretna Green in Scotland, nearest village with a church to the English border). If the Sue is nearly 15, and this fic is taking place in 1991, she'd have been born in 1976. If that betrothal spell counted as marriage, then it might have been legal. MIGHT. I may be flagrantly misrepresenting Scottish marriage laws, though. And I am certain the author was not thinking about this at all at the time.
