Okay I don't know who this Severitus person is but they have to be stopped.

Severitus is a writer on ff.net, aka the Pit Of Voles. She issued a challenge - make Harry find out, on his sixteenth birthday, that one way or another, James is not his biological father, Snape is. The way of this happening - Lily cheating on James, Snape raping Lily, Imperio, Snape secretly donating sperm for James' infertility as a favour to Lily blah blah - whichever way you chose. The thing was, Lily had performed a charm on Harry to make him look like James (hence, why everyone comments that Harry looks so like his father) but it's set to wear off when he turns sixteen and 'old enough to know the truth'. Whether or not Snape actually knows (or even suspects) that Harry is biologically his is another thing left up to the imagination.

While I've read a couple of good fics that came from the Severitus-challenge, some are plain god-awful, and by now they're far too prolific. I'd give you some links to ones that would make you laugh, but this is a Mary Sues community.

Here's one way that Harry finds out he's Snape's son in one fic: The Weasley twins have invented a clever clever little trick whereby a little image will transform from a likeness of the related person into a likeness of Snape, squeak "Snape!" and explode in a puff of dust if anyone blood-related to Snape is present. It falls on Harry's lap and under the seat. He sticks his end under the seat to retrieve it and watches it transform, squeak and explode. Oh no! All his suspicions are confirmed! Therefore, he is Snape's son.
