I figured we might as well complete our tour de Magiceanna.
TITLE:
The mindPERPETRATOR:
Magiceanna SUE-O-METER:
(bad)
FULL NAME: Hermione Granger
SPECIES: human/witch?
HAIR: 'My hair was long and curled and a dark brown with red highlights.'
EYES: 'I had large brown eyes.', 'I could tell by looking into my eyes that I had not lived a hard life.'
MARKINGS: two small cuts on her wrist.
POSESSIONS: a blue Celica, two credit cards, and a murder victim.
ORIGIN: Hermione woke up with amnesia and discovered she'd murdered somebody and was a Mary-Sue.
CONNECTIONS TO CANON: No canon yet beyond the name Hermione.
SPECIAL ABILITIES: none mentioned.
NOTES: Whether this is strictly speaking a Sue or not will depend on future chapters. Right now it's just a rather weird but admittedly somewhat intriguing soap-opera mystery (in Magiceanna's trademark GIANT FONT) that doesn't have anything really to do with the Harry Potter universe.
I like to hope the murdered girl in the opening paragraph was another Mary-Sue.
SAMPLE:
She lay between two trees, not far from myself, not ten feet from the pond. Her hair was blonde, she appeared about seventeen or eighteen. She lay on her back, staring up at the sky with vacant eyes. Her left leg was twisted beneath her at an unnatural angle. Her right hand touched a small rock, held up by it more than her own muscle. Her yellow sweater was so red that it could have been a gift from a psychotic Santa. Then I saw the knife. The blade covered in blood. It was so close. While I slept, I could have fallen from my hand.
I struggled to remember anything. I tried, I remembered that I was on Earth, the third planet from the sun, I knew what French fries tasted like. I picked myself up from the ground and took a few shaky steps. I was soon warmer than I had been before. I passed a few small ponds of water. Each smaller than the pond that I had woken up next to. I stopped, and thought for a moment, then I realized that I did not know who I was.
I wondered around until I found a road. I walked north. Up the hill. I soon came to a car. A blue Celica. After searching in my pockets I found a key ring. "What the heck?" I said out loud. My voice sounded strange. I put the key in the lock. It opened. Before entering the car I checked myself out. I had a small amount of blood on my hand from two small cuts on my wrist. I remembered passing a few ponds on the way to the road. I walked out to one of them not even a half mile from the road. I plunged my hands and feet into the icy water. After making sure the blood was washed from my hands I walked slowly back to my car and hopped in.
Soon I was sitting in the drivers seat with the heat on full blast. I was soon warm and dry. I pulled down the small vanity mirror and peered into it. My hair was long and curled and a dark brown with red highlights. I had large brown eyes. My nose was small and slightly pointed. I could tell by looking into my eyes that I had not lived a hard life. My lips were full. I did not check my teeth just because I did not feel like flashing a smile right then. My face, my own face, did not look familiar. I felt under my seat. My fingers brushed a purse, I froze. It was obvious the purse was mine. I slipped the purse out and opened it. Inside were a few dollars, thirty maybe. Two credit cards. I didn't look at the name. The drivers license caught my attention. It had my picture on it. A few other details:
Height: five foot four inches
Weight: one hundred and ten pounds
Name: Hermione Granger. Me.
"Hermione," I whispered. "Hermi." Nothing rang famillair in my ears. In my heart. If the information the license was current, I livbed a 1667 Coach Lane, Carlsure, Oregon. I knew about the state of Oregon but I had never heard of Carlsure. It didn't sound like a city that I would live in. But then, too was a Celica a car that I would buy?
I slowly went down the hill towards a small town that was still semi awake at this hour. I slowly drove by a sign that proclaimed: "Welcome to Carlsure: Population 31,876" I drove up to the Shell station and got out of the car. I went up to the phone and looked up the Granger's number.
