This sort of train-of-thought narration is making my head hurt. It strikes me as being written by a young writer, although possible it's an older writer who is just really good at sounding young. But just those three paragraphs would not be enough for me to want to suffer through this story. It sounds pretty boring, and Bella is definitely a possession sue here.
I can't imagine Charlie getting a mysterious letter from England about magic and just taking him and his small daughter over there. Definitely a case where an instructor coming to talk to Bella and Charlie about it would make more sense (although I think Charlie would still be a hard sell).
I'm confused about the timeline especially. How did she spill something on Rosalie's skirt a year ago, but not have met Carlisle or Edward yet?
I do like Carlisle as the school nurse, though, as a way to incorporate more of the Twilight side of things. It opens up a lot more questions about the Cullens in this universe, but still.
Oliver Wood is such a vastly different character than Edward Cullen that I don't believe Bella would be interested in both of them. Methinks the writer just has a thing for Oliver's accent in the movies.
