5120: Harry Potter's Godmother - Cassandra Pendragon
The story would make more sense if it didn’t pick up towards the end of The Order of Pheonix. Or maybe not, given this is a Mary Sue we're talking about.

Summary: “…What if Lilly also had a best friend, knowing Lilly she most likely had alot more sense, this is a story that picks up right after Sirius Black falls through the veil in OTP” My thoughts when I read the title and summary was, “that’s not how being a godparent works.” Harry’s godparent would be Sirius and nobody else as Sirius wasn’t attached to anybody else at the time Harry was born. Doing otherwise would present the expectation of two individuals having split custody of the child which would not be seen as being in the child’s best interests.

Sueworts House(s): When the veil becomes a Mary Sue power you know you’ve got Quanonreip. She also does everything with a flourish that’s reminiscent of a Sparklypoo. She also belongs in Bitchiwitch as she’s a downright bitch. (Seriously, anybody calling Petunia a bitch with such ease while talking about Lily’s wishes is no friend of Lily.”

Later, Harry, Hermione and Ron become Animagi because she’s so amazing!
“Hermione was clearly going to end up an otter and Ron seemed to be some kind of dog probably a jack Russell terrier. Meanwhile Harry was slightly disappointed to find that he was not a stag like his father as he had hoped, instead he transformed into a black stallion with a jagged lightening shaped white patch on his face, or so it seemed although he couldn't be entirely certain as at this moment in time his hands a morphed into hooves and his hair had become a main while his body was resemble some type of profoundly distorted centaur creature.”
Possessions: She has the vase Lily sent Petunia the Christmas before James and Lily died, which explains why Petunia’s last letter from Lily was about Harry being born. (I’m actually joking as there is no mention of a vase, but there is mention of said Sue speaking for how Lily felt about Petunia while ignoring the canon material.) She, despite being dead as long as she has been, is able to provide Harry with the perfect loving home.
Origin: Harry’s godmother comes to Sirius’ rescue so he doesn’t die, but I wish I wasn’t serious given the fact we’re left wondering why she wasn’t in Harry’s life as she obviously could have been. Or I guess not because she comes through the veil because she’s just that awesome. Which eventually leads to Hermione spouting off this bit of background information.

She owned the magical estate EdenVale and she was a very popular member of the ministry. Her grandmother, Elinor Pendragon, was Minster of Magic during the early years of Voldemort's rise. According to the Rise and Fall of the Darkest Arts, she actually did a fair job at containing his power for years. He only started getting really powerful after she left office. People were worried and wanted someone willing to cross the line to hunt the Death Eaters. She refused so she was voted out. Totally backfired, Millicent Bogrod allowed unforgivable curses on suspects and allowed them to go to Azkaban without trials, but within a year the Ministry was totally overrun and Voldemort was more powerful than ever’ Hermonie stopped to take a breath. ‘The Pendragons were one of the most powerful magical families in Europe. They helped establish the Minsitry of Magic in Britain, the first Minister of Magic was a Pendragon and many, many more have held high places in the Ministry. There was even a Pendragon Headmaster of Hogwarts. Plus the family estate EdenVale is the most powerfully Magic place In Europe, some people think it's actually the origin of Magic and it supposedly has all kinds of magical plants and creatures that don't exist anymore anywhere else.’” And we need to know this why?
Connection to Canon: Our Sue pops through the veil which in turn results in Sirius living. Lupin and Sirius are surprised to see her because she’s supposed to be dead, and then she’s concerned about Death Eater’s wanting to kill their Godson and wants an explanation while I’m wondering how she knows they’re after Harry let alone that Harry is their godson. Ron and Hermione are suddenly there to be wowed by her, but even stranger is Ron speaking as if he didn’t have a second brain. (By that I mean he is speaking as if he had a brain despite what happened.) She’s able to take control of the room to the point even Voldemort freezes. (I wish I was joking.)
She is then able to get a motion carried to kick Fudge from the position of Minister and her put in his place despite the fact she’s legally dead. She then holds a war council where Molly calls her out for wanting to train children because “Harry’s DA is certainly effective. Dumledore, I would suggest that Harry be permitted to continue it?” She brushes it aside and says it’s just teaching people to defend themselves, rather than noting that the students actually need a qualified DADA teacher.
In chapter four she starts yelling in all caps. "HOW-DARE YOU COUNTERMAND JAMES AND LILLY'S WISHES, HOW DARE YOU GIVE HARRY TO THAT BITCH AND HER HORRIBLE HUSBAND, HIS PARENTS ARE OUT FOR YOUR BLOOD, YOU HAD NO RIGHT, I DON'T CARE WHAT PROTECTIONS YOU THINK IT GAVE HIM. THERE IS NO EXCUSE TO LEAVE A CHILD IN AN ABUSIVE SITUATION, YOU MANIPULATIVE OLD MAN"
And what were their wishes, Sue? Canon never covered what James and Lily’s plans for Harry should something happen to Sirius, but we do know Lily sent Petunia a vase the Christmas before her death, yet I have the distinct feeling Lily wanted to reconcile with her sister that said Sue is calling a bitch. There was no reason for either James or Lily to think Petunia would treat Harry the way they did, yet as per the usual course the fanfic over exaggerates the abuse Harry went through.
She continues to call Dumbledore an idiot, but her issue according to Sirius is this. “That was a major point of dissent between them actually, Cassandra objected to Dumbledore’s methods.” We’re talking about Cassandra who steamrolls over all the other characters while any objection to her actions is corrected as “being wrong” or they’re “put in their place”.
We then learn that the Pendragon family (through a Hermione info dump were part of a conclave. “The Conclave universally agreed to ban the use and teaching of all higher Magics.” Only for Cassandra to say it’s a technicality, but it’s why “Lily’s sacrifice had so much power.” and this is after Cassandra poo-pooed Harry staying at the Dursley family, only for her to try and claim Lily found special “magics that only work through sacrifice and connection to a permanent magical source.”
Chapter six is specialized Sue lessons including skills they’ll likely never need such as Muggle lockpicking. Chapter seven she takes them to a casino for Harry’s birthday. (And here I thought Sirius held the record regarding most inappropriate behavior.) Chapter eight sees Cassandra knowing about the events which transpired at Hogwarts. Chapter nine is where they go back to Hogwarts, but Cassandra’s already told Hermione all about the curse in Dumbledore’s hand. (Why did that still happen if Cassandra is so amazing? Oh, yeah. Because Dumbledore is a big old meanie.)
Special Abilities: She defied death because she can! She becomes minister because she can. She speaks for Lily as if she knew her, yet what she says shows she is no friend of Lily. Cassandra claims that “as her bonded partner that Magic is rooted in our bond and so is stronger here than it would ever have been at the Dursley’s.” Ouch. I actually read this after I found myself imagining this Sue actually stealing the vase Lily sent Petunia. She really is that kind of bitch.
In chapter six she becomes Harry’s animagus teacher while also teaching him Muggle martial arts, and Ron excelled at her lock picking lessons because of Fred and George. “ According to Cassandra being an Animagus was difficult only because of the amount of Magic that was required was difficult for any one witch or wizard to generate. ” Harry is excited about it, but because of this

The world seemed to stop as Harry watched his godfather Sirus Black fall though the arched veil, the echo of his laugh ringing in his ears. he vaguely saw Lupin yell and reach out as if to grab Sirus even though he stood more than a hundred meters from his best friend. There was a burning pain in Harry's chest as reality set in.
And then, just as suddenly a bright golden light began to emanate from the veil and a body was slowly pushed back into the world of the living supported by a smaller slimmer body just out of sight. Lupin and Harry reached Sirius' limp body at the same time, blasting death eaters out of their way as the battle raged around them. The members of the DA and The Order moved to position themselves around their fallen comrade throwing spells and hexes against Belatrix and the remaining death eaters. "Is he alive?" Hermonie asked urgently as she dodged a red streak of light.
"He is" said a musical voice from above Harry's head.
Attention focused on his beloved godfather, he glanced up at Lupin only to see a look of stunned disbelief "Cassandra?" Lupin asked confusion clear on his face.
Reassured by the strong pulse in Sirus' neck Harry glanced up at the figure that had followed him out of the veil and his gaze was arrested by one of the most beautiful women he had ever seen. This woman was every bit as stunning as the most lovely Veela, but in a way that made her seem more real. Her brown hair was so dark as to look black paired with large grey eyes fringed with sooty lashes. She had pale skin and a tall willowy frame. She smiled a wicked little smile at Harry as she met his eyes and then with a quick glance around the room still filled with dueling witches and wizards; she raised her arms , flicking her fingers against her thumbs.
Golden streaks blasted across the room hitting each of the Death Eaters in the chest. As each Death Eater was hit they instantly collapsed and the golden beams enveloped them creating a golden pod around the now comatose forms.
"Now that's much better, all that noise was giving me a headache" the woman said.
