Title: Magic and Mischief
Perpetrator: DalkonCledwen
Sue-O-Meter: Toxic
Cover/Banner Art: The cover is a girl dressed in a black dress which comes just above her knees and is sleeveless with socks or boots which come to her knees which are black and long hair which comes to her mid back.
Summary: “She was destined to be the savior of people who didn't appreciate her. He was the brother of the future ruler of the gods of ancient Scandinavia. Watch now, as their paths collide and the tapestry of fate changes in unexpected ways.”
Full Name: Iris Potter
Species: The writer can’t decide if this is a female version of Harry or an OC.
Hair: n/a, though it might be long and red if the cover is anything to go by.
Eyes: n/a
Markings: n/a
Possessions: n/a
Connection to Canon: This is meant to be a female version of Harry, but the writer’s taken some liberties including labeling female Harry as their own original character when Harry - any version of Harry - is still Rowling’s character. Loki - this is an Avengers crossover if you’ve not figured that out already - randomly shows up at Little Whinging. She’s miraculously saved by a miracle explained in “special abilities” which she shouldn’t even have and Loki becomes interested in her. She’s of course drooling over him instantly and instead of thinking with her head pretty much thinks with her libido. Which, given the fact Iris is a teenage girl, this is not a good thing. She uses Kreacher to bypass the Fidelius. For some reason Loki tells her exactly who he is which gets him quickly mocked as he’s a horse’s mother in his introduction. (Did that actually stick in the Avengers version of the Norse mythos?) Suddenly Remus shows up and he says, “I happen to be one of four purveyors of aids to magical mischief-makers. […]A And I’m also the only one of those four individuals who is both alive and completely loyal to Iris.” Yes, he really said that and doesn’t really think much about Loki, the god of mischief being there. Later on the Order realizes Iris took off on them and Remus shows up there and is glad nobody can use legillmency on him. (Oh boy.) Instead he focuses on getting a date from Tonks. Iris makes breakfast to try and - as Loki puts it - “be a prankster’s courtship”. By the end of the only chapter, “Loki was now completely convinced he was going to be playing the part of Knight in Shining Armor in the Relationship he now found himself forming.”
Origin: Apparently, “this story was inspired by and named after the ‘Magic and Mischief’ challenge posted on Whitetigerwolf’s forum by Purple ‘N’ Blue Wings. He has asked for a fic where Fem!Harry is paired with Loki because he hasn’t see it all too often, if at all. Frankly, I haven’t seen such a pairing all to often either.” The writer follows up with a message about hitting writers block and telling people they can pretty much continue the story.
Special Abilities: We’re supposed to believe that Iris has “both phoenix tears and basilisk venom flowing through her veins and acting to heal her almost as quickly as she could be injured.” This is not how either of these things work.

Notes: I am left assuming the writer thinks they own the rights to female!Harry because on top of the story being clearly marked as an Loki/OC pairing the writer also says in their disclaimer that, “all publicly recognizable characters, settings, etc. are the property of their respective owners. Only the original characters and plot are the property of this author.” There’s not a single OC in the story, but the writer apparently doesn’t understand that Iris Potter is still “publicly recognizable” as Harry despite the name and gender change. In this particular one I didn’t notice any change in eye and hair color either. It might be read given the cover.

Sample:

Iris Potter found herself being hurled off her feet as a tornado seemed to materialize out of thin air in her direct path within Little Whinging. The only thing that saved her from grievous injury being that she was simply more resilient that most people on account of the fact that she had both phoenix tears and basilisk venom flowing through her veins and acting to heal her almost as quickly as she could be injured.
Just as suddenly as the tornado had appeared, it spontaneously vanished, and Iris sat up while saying "Bloody hell!"

"My thoughts exactly, although I'd have chosen a different imprecation," a voice remarked from somewhere beyond her blurry vision. The voice was suave, cultured and all those things that the boys of Wizarding Britain could just never be.
Once her vision cleared enough that she could see who it was that had spoken to her, she had but one thing to say, "You clearly aren't an angel, so why are you falling out of Heaven?"

The man who she was addressing was barely dressed for one thing, he had on a pair of trousers and not much else, but given the fact that he was absolutely gorgeous from her personal point of view, she didn't quite care how he was dressed. The man eyed her curiously for a moment before taking in the fact that she was looking at his chest and not his face, so he looked down and muttered, "Oh, well that just figures."

"My eyes are up here," he remarked after a moment while snapping the fingers of one of his hands next to said organs.
