Being SORTED!!!!

98 Days until GoF! (this makes me think I'm in 2000 or something)

"Do you remember me telling you we are practising non-verbal spells, Potter?"
"Yes."
"Yes sir."
"There's no need to call me 'sir', Professor."
Snape and Harry
Half Blood Prince
Chapter Nine, p. 180

I feel like jumping up and down simply because I'm in some type of rare hyper-mode. Not doing this as I had originally intended, it'll be a swift entry.

Anyways, sometimes it's hilarious how people don't take me seriously about being sorted into a house considering I'm a die-hard HP fan already. It'd never occur to people that I'm at a boarding school and British boarding schools have exactly the same system as the one described in the HP series. L'ville just happens to emulate the system as well. Not as well as it should be because one thing does bother me. So I'm a sophomore aka a III Former in L'ville slang. However, I finally understood the English educational system after much pondering and research and I'm wary from now on. I could never tell an English person that I'm a third former because in fact that would mean I'm starting 8th grade. I am actually in the 5th Form. Of course you'd be mistaken for a senior on our campus if you dared to mutter that. With that said, onto the revelations. The housing assignments came out yesterday, August 10. Funny thing is that I've been waiting for this for a while and it didn't hit me till late afternoon. So I did bet a 40% chance on getting sorted into McClellan and a 60% chance on being sorted into Stephens. 0 chances on Stanley and Kirby because I hinted at McClellan and Stephens on the form last May. Ciao to my good old house:

and hello to.............................................................

Stephens!

~insert maroon and grey coloured flag here~
I honestly looked hard around the site to see if I could catch a pic of my new houseflag. No such luck. You'd think if we have so much house pride, the flags wouldn't be so elusive.

Now the other part (I'm gonna say there's three parts to this fiasco):

Who else is in Stephens (sophomores)? (surnames first)

Day student group one: Griffith, Jessica Jones, Raven (poor them, they're new students and they're stuck with 4 juniors)

Group 2: Chattopadhyay, Shilpita Zheng, Maria (well they're also stuck with 4 juniors but it's not as tragic since we're all acquainted)

G3: Dow, Lindsay Iyer, Mythili Kumar, Vidhya Lee, Tiffany Magagna, Sarah Maskin, Charlotte

Great girls, love them all for the most part. I had to recheck this today because it never occurred to me that there was such a thing as a third day student group and I was gonna start moping because Charlotte wasn't in Stephens.

My housemaster is now Mrs.Doak, my 9th grade english teacher. She's superbly comical and that's basically why I requested Stephens but in retropsect, I have no idea why I did. She's funny to the point of insanity at times. I can't believe I'm gonna live with her for two years now. Class was crazy enough with her. My mum struck lucky again. The assistant housemaster, Mrs(Ms?).Shaw, is a Spanish teacher. Relieving to know there'll be no linguistic barriers amongst my mum and the house authorities while I also will have someone around that I don't have to speak in English to.

And now the third part: Who the hell is my roommate? I was thinking, hey they had to have given me the Kendra Sweet girl but what a shocker it was to see that she's all the way over in McClellan. That was yesterday evening. My eyes were already starting to immerse themselves in pain and I wasted a valuable 20min trying to locate a list of roommates. In the end I emailed Mrs.Doak thinking hopelessly that with summer vacation around there's no chance she'd answer back. Goodie, I found an email in L'ville inbox this morning and this is what is said:

Hi Mrs. Doak!
I saw the housing assignments and I'm in Stephens. I was wondering though if there was any place on the website listed that says who's rooming with rooming.

Thanks.
Indra

Hey lady!
I'm so happy you will be calling Stephens home for the next two years (or, home away from home, at least). I haven't fully finished the rooming assignments yet. There is one triple in the house, so prepare for that, just in case.

I'll send out letters by Thursday saying who you are rooming with.

Sorry it isn't set yet, but there were some last minute changes to our list!

Again, I'm so happy you are in the house. Please feel free to contact me with any questions (although I'll be away from Friday until the 23rd) or thoughts at all!

Best,
Mrs. D

Well my mum's freaking out already because she thinks I'm getting the triple. She never listens to reason. I'm elated at the prospect of Sydney boarding; didn't think it had worked out in the end. This leads me to some contemplation and speculation. Pam was dying to mark down Sydney as her roommate as was I but we ended up picking new students since she was gonna continue being a day student. There's a triple thrown into Stephens and us three who ended up with zip. Personally, I'm more concerned with who I room with rather than how many are in my room. I wish the same could be said for my mummy. Who doesn't enjoy trial and error? There's nothing in the mail yet. I have a rough idea of who's rooming with who.

Barker Rachel (no idea, she's very isolated and people think she's a major loser, unfortunately)
Barnhart Caroline & Lee Somin
Carey Coco (new) & Hennemuth Laura (new) possibly this match up
Diaz Karinna & Labadie Clara
Erdmann Elizabeth & Yap Melissa
Myers Lizi & Sagripanti Francesca
Paniagua Pam
Patton Brittany & Robinson Tabby (I'm gonna assume this)
Plummer Sydney
Riker Katie & a junior according to her xanga
W. Indra

This does in fact leave a strong possibility that I will be thrown into the triple with Pam and Sydney. We shall see hopefully tomorrow in the mail.
