There had been a bang and another one several minutes later.
Saeki Kojirou couldn’t take it any longer and even though he started to suspect it was being done intentionally to piss him off, he still found himself marching from his room to the one exactly above his the next floor up. Standing outside the door of the low level vampire, the aristocrat righted his shirt, ran fingers through his perfectly mussed hair, and waited for the urge to kill the noise maker to pass before knocking. When the knock came, he held his tongue and didn’t call out any obscenities or even make his presence known as he just knew the bastard would purposely ignore him otherwise.
He had politely asked the vampire to stop making the noise on a post online and even waited several days but it continued and even more loudly than before. It was clearly time for matters to be dealt with in person. Perhaps charm would work on the guy like it did everyone else he met?
Kurobane Harukaze wasn't in the mood to deal with people. He was among other things annoyed as all hell with life in general and hungry. Very, very hungry! The fucking pills just weren't doing anything for him other than taking the edge off, not that he would do anything about the hunger in general.
That required feeding and even if there weren't rules about that sort of thing, he hated what he was and the idea of feeding off humans sickened him. This, of course, explained the noise that even at that moment was annoying the aristocrat a floor below him, because in his infinite wisdom the biggest grump on campus had learned long ago that he could lose himself within repetitive actions. It didn't matter what it was as long as his brain and body could zero in on repeating one thing over and over again. From practicing his swing with a tennis racket and a ball slammed against a wall, swimming, or (and the cause of Saeki's beef with him) as with his current activity the constant lifting and lowering of weights.
So, no, he wasn't a happy camper when his door vibrated with a knocking heralding the arrival someone so rude as to trespass on his solitude. In fact, he was so annoyed that it was his worst glowering glare that met Saeki Kojirou when he dropped his set of barbells to the floor with a solid thud that did nothing to lessen his rising ire. Bane wrenched his door open after stomping his way to it, shot the smaller vampire a glare that highlighted just how pissed off he was, and then promptly snapped, "What the fuck do you want?"
He was hot, sweaty, and hungry; felt no need for social niceties or the idiocy of pasting on a smile for someone he neither knew nor cared for. The hell with the rules! He didn't owe anyone docility or respect they hadn't earned. Plus, it just pleased his contrary nature to do the exact opposite of what he'd been told by his superiors.
When that door opened to reveal the buff-a guy had to be blind not to notice that fact-body coated in sweat, Saeki was at a loss for words for a moment. That is, until the jerk opened his mouth and his annoyance returned and prompted him back into action. A swift kick of an expensive shoe-covered foot met a shin with a casually tossed out, “whoops, my bad,” as he pushed by Bane to allow himself into the room that was laid out in much the same way as his own. He didn’t much care for the larger but lower classed vampire standing behind him as the aristocrat’s only goal was to see what the hell was making all that noise, hell, even his plan of flirting his way into good graces was forgotten.
After a quick sweep of cerulean eyes over the room, the offending objects were spotted on the floor between beds. Weights. The damn vampire was lifting weights and was likely purposely slamming them onto the floor. Of course there was a roommate but Saeki had the feeling Bane was out to annoy him for some reason he had never been told and the comments before sure made it seem like the peasant was responsible. “Just came by to help move the furniture you must be rearranging with the noise I can hear in my room.” He tossed a smile at the vampire he had already kicked and pissed off and wondered if his charms would soothe such a savage beast.
Kurobane Harukaze wasn't in the mood to deal with the aristocrat whose foot had just made the acquaintance of his shin. On the best of days he was quiet if not somewhat standoffishly withdrawn from his peers and classmates, the worst of days saw him telling the annoying bastards to shove it. He knew such behavior and insubordination was against the rules and was patiently waiting for the day he'd be told he was expelled from the school that taught both humans and vampires, but so far that day had not come much to his annoyance.
That wasn't to say it wouldn't come yet, especially if he managed to piss this little twit off enough. The idea was plausible and held some merit. He liked it, especially as he owed the asshole for the stinging shin Bane refused to reach for to rub the ache away less the snotty brat say something about how weak he was for such a small blow to hurt. "Get the fuck out," he snarled as he stomped his way across the small distance separating him from the prey that had walked right into, what was in all sense of the word, his lair. Soon a hand closed over a slender shoulder to wrench Saeki around to face him and a face lowered to shove itself right into the aristocrat's. "Get the fuck out, or it'll be your face being rearranged!"
Hot, sweaty, and hungry; he was all those things and more. His hair was plastered to his skull, dripping with the proof of his physical exertions and so was the shirtless torso tensing in preparation of the punch he itched to throw, so no; he definitely wasn't in the mood to humor a higher up, especially this one.
Saeki admitted only to himself-and silently at that-that Bane was a little scary when he was all up in his face like that and snarling. But he didn’t show any fear and simply shrugged his way out of the grip on his shoulder to stroll around the room until he flopped down on a bed, not caring who it belonged to. “That really isn’t any way to treat not only an aristocrat but a guest you so clearly invited,” in Saeki’s mind all that thudding on his ceiling was obviously a way to get his attention and draw him up so why leave so soon?
In fact, Saeki took to leaning back on elbows and lounging on the bed-with feet still dangling over the edge since he wasn’t a barbarian that would put shoes on a bed-making himself at home. Another smile was given even as the vampire wondered if he was playing with proverbial fire and calculated where all the useful shadows in the room were in case anything got too far out of hand for his quick tongue.
Bane drew himself to his full height, glare growing worse by the second, especially when Saeki plopped his ass down on his bed as if he owned it. "Save the lectures for someone that gives a fuck, princess." He snapped as he headed for the bed, hand snapping out for one of Saeki's arms as they extended behind him to hold his weight during the lounging that seemed to be the uppermost important thing for the aristocrat to do right then. Fully intending to jerk the man off his bed, he snorted in disdain.
"I don't recall inviting you or anyone else into my domain, so like I said… get the fuck out!"
“No, I think I’ll stay a b-oi!” startled by the sudden grab to his hand that was clearly intending to pull him up off the bed, Saeki automatically kicked a leg out for some sort of balance only to catch Bane in the shin again. It hadn’t been planned but a part of him smirked at the pain he would have caused once more before realizing he was also falling backward thanks to so much momentum and falling off-balance. Before he could complain further or right himself, he saw the larger vampire wobbling in what looked like only one thing.
“Don’t you dare fall on me!”
The warning came a little too late in Bane's opinion. "Damn it!" he hissed as he fell, arms automatically sliding forward in an attempt to catch his weight. Guided by some remnants of the man he had been well on his way to becoming before his turning, he instinctively sought to shield the smaller form beneath him from the brunt of his weight and immediately regretted it when it registered that the reason he'd been thrown off balance was Saeki's fault in the first place.
"Don't you dare tell me what to do!" he snapped in much the same tone as the vampire he crowded with his body in the tumble from standing to being draped across the bed he had no intention of nearing for another couple of hours.
“Don’t snap at me or I’ll keep kicking but I’ll aim higher next time!” Oh yes, he could see a beautiful relationship forming out of this. Saeki mentally rolled his eyes at the lower level vampire that growled far too much but had actually attempted to catch his weight instead of crushing of the smaller form beneath him. It confused the dual-toned haired vampire though it was also intriguing and he secretly gave Bane a bonus point for being a somewhat gentleman even if it was hidden behind harsh words.
Saeki made the mistake of looking up at the vampire above him and realized once again how hot the guy was when you looked beyond the scowl and growl. Instinct told him to wrap arms around the other vampire and pull him in for a kiss but before those limbs could betray him, Saeki composed and chided himself for falling for a jackass and turned the moment into teasing. “If you’re going to keep me pinned to your bed, I do prefer a nicer tone and request that clothes come off in a civilized manner as I am fond of what I wear.”
Bane stilled, gaze sharp despite the wary light that slithered through the deep chocolate colored eyes that rose to lock on Saeki's face. Was the brat insane? Did he want to push his buttons and set him off? Hadn't he already growled and snapped enough to send a dozen of his classmates running already? Yes, he had, so why wasn't Saeki following their example?
"Kick me and I'll kick back," he drawled as he shifted to the side, a hand rising to snake along a slender hip. His fingers grazed over the jut of cloth covered bone, dallying briefly above the smaller vampire's waistband, before they reached for and tore loose the hem of Saeki's shirt pulling it free of the pants he wore. "Difference is; mine would hurt a hell of a lot more."
He smiled cruelly from within the halo of the dark, damp curls clinging to his skull as the hair he normally trained into precision spikes had long since lost the style thanks to his workout. "And I already told you not to tell me what to do, princess." He warned seconds before those fingers turned as vicious as the smile that curled his lips tearing the shirt he held with little regret or regard to Saeki's attachment to the garment.
"I'm not one of your ass kissers or minions to be following your orders!"
Saeki’s eyes shone brightly with his growing agitation at several things. He was losing control of the situation which was something most would consider the most important thing as it was an angry and larger vampire holding him down, ready to do anything he pleased. But it was the torn shirt and the nickname he seemed to be permanently attached to now in Bane’s mind that was getting to him. If the idiotic brunette wanted to tango with an aristocrat, then he would get a dance and see what even the flirty and seemingly innocent ones could do.
Without saying a word, blue eyes directed their gaze to one of the corners of the room where suitable shadows criss-crossed that he had scouted out earlier. With the smallest of gestures in the form of two fingers waving, Saeki called a shadow forward. Willing it as he pleased, the silhouette of a desk elongated until it came up to the bed and lifted several feet until it was at the same height as Bane above the shadow-controller. Lips curled into an evil smirk as the shadow was joined by another and the two descended upon the once-human with one going for the wrist of the offending hand and the other wrapping around Bane’s neck just tight enough to startle and worry the guy but not suffocate him-yet.
The cold chill of a shadowy tether coiled around his throat, stilling both the hand that tore at Saeki's shirt and the vampire it belonged to. Bane stared down at the smaller vampire, his gaze as cold as the tendril of darkness encompassing neck and wrist almost startling with how they had snaked out of nowhere to imprison him. "Now that, my pet, is cheating." He drawled with a quirk of brow. He didn't show the slightest bit of fear. In fact, lips curled into a challenging sneer, daring Saeki as much as his next words did.
"But then again, I expected nothing less from one of your kind, so do it!" he ordered on a harsh growl, free hand snaking its way toward an elegantly curved chin to grasp it almost gently.
"Go on! Do it! You know you want to, so why deny yourself?" It sounded almost as if he had a death wish with how he encouraged Saeki to tighten the noose around his neck, if not for the way a knee slithered between parted thighs and pressed tightly into his companion's groin. Yes, Saeki might, indeed, manage to get the better of him with his nifty little powers. However, he would remember Bane long after he tottered out of his bedroom when his knee was finished shoving balls into backbone.
Saeki hadn’t been expecting such a reaction and the wide blue eyes of a startled young vampire showed it quite clearly. Did Bane have a death wish or did he simply not believe a little brat with a bit of power could actually dirty his hands and act on a violent impulse? Whatever the reason for Bane’s actions, Saeki was pretty convinced he couldn’t do more than what he had already done without being in serious danger. “Like I could overpower you on my own strength, iron-pumping idiot!” The snarl had a hint of a hiss to the end when a knee began pressing against his groin, causing an odd sensation he assumed was known as panic.
He was the sort to always have control of a situation and to always be at least one step ahead of everyone even in unplanned activities but this one had Saeki thrown for a loop. He had a larger vampire pinning him down and threatening his manhood even as he demanded the shadow tendril around his neck tighten. The guy really was an idiot! “What makes you say I want anything more than to get you off of me? But if you want tighter, don’t think I won’t!” sapphire blue eyes narrowed as he glared up at the vampire he couldn’t quite figure out and focused on the tendril at the neck to tighten just a little bit more to show he could do it and his powers weren’t just for show or useless.
Each second that passed with the noose of shadow tightening around his neck saw a knee pressing harder and far more firmly against the groin it wedged against. "Aww, princess," Bane cooed. Yes, cooed in the most obnoxious manner, his hand holding that chin shifting to dance fingertips lightly over pale skin, soft and smooth as if it had never seen a day where harm of any sort had met it. "You should have told me I was being far too rough!"
He was being the most obnoxious jerk with the way he cupped a cheek in the palm of his hand, even more so when his head dipped and lips came so dangerously close to another pair, the motion adding that much more pressure to the noose Saeki tightened with but a thought stealing away Bane's breath bit by bit. "I didn't know my rough play was just too much for you to handle, I swear!"
In any other situation and with practically any other person, Saeki would have been turned on and stealing those lips to his for the best kiss the guy would ever have but the knee to his groin and the harsh tone of voice was making for a very good buzz killer. Naturally he had been in small mock fights before to train his power and prepare for any attack on his family or their kind-especially against the purebloods his family was sworn to protect-but this was one of the first real experiences the flirtatious vampire had been in and his mind was stalling on what to do. The only thing he could think of was to try using the shadows to pull Bane free of him so he could gather his bearings for another attack, defence, or run.
Once again focusing on the shadow around a neck turning red from the pressure, Saeki had it stay as it was, willing it not to tighten but to follow the motion of the tendril that was working from the corner where the closet was. He pulled at that darkened area to draw forth a thicker and stronger shadow that he hoped would wrap around the torso of his attacker and yank the vampire off the bed and across the room. He had moved objects in the past but they weren’t as large or heavy as another vampire so all Saeki could do was hope and focus and send the tendril forth.
Unaware of the new rope of darkness snaking toward him, Bane was completely taken by surprise when it coiled around his torso and gave a sharp yank snapping him up off the bed. The vampire was so surprised that his hold on Saeki tightened instinctively seeking to chain him in place so he wouldn't go flying off the bed, a futile effort that still saw him rising and slamming backwards but one that wouldn't see him take the journey alone.
There was gasp of surprise and some cursing as Saeki realized his plan had worked but too well and took him along as well. In a blink of an eye his shadow creation had drawn them both back toward the closet it had crept out of, slamming Bane’s back into the wall and both of them sprawling on the floor. Saeki knew he should be grateful considering he wasn’t the one covered in shadows with his breath being cut off, wasn’t the one being pulled every which way, and wasn’t the one lying on the floor but the one that had landed on top of a rock hard body.
Still stunned from the strength of his power that tossed them both around, Saeki started to softly laugh into the chest his cheek had been resting against after the fall. It was better to laugh than to start another fight and fling insults, he decided. “That worked a little better than I expected. I hadn’t planned on you clinging to me.”
Bane counted to ten, attempting to breathe his way through the pain that had exploded along his back when he slammed into the wall. That proved to be a mistake as with the first lungful of air he realized two things at once: up until that point he had been able to ignore the scent of the vampire that now laid draped across him with a cheek pressed to his chest and Saeki had the softest hair.
It tickled his nose as it was buried in a tuft of it, filling his nostrils with the vampire's unique scent and awakening a hunger that never was really sated just barely silenced by the tablets they made them eat. "Remove them!" he ordered on a low growl, body tensing and hands tightening on Saeki in preparation of flinging the smaller vampire off him. "Remove the fucking binds, now!" Too bad his order came with the shifting of his head and the instinctive nuzzle of nose along flesh, seeking out the source of the delicious smell that made his mouth water and fangs ache to bury into soft skin.
Something told Saeki that he had better get himself away from the angry vampire first and soon he was squirming around-regretting it a bit when the pressure hit his groin that was now tender from that damn knee-and finally rolling onto his feet in a crouched position not too far from Bane. “You were sniffing me, weren’t you?” he swore he could feel a nuzzling against his head which was what prompted him to get away from the creature he was still trying to figure out though it could have been his imagination.
“Anyway, I’ll remove them but not because you asked me to!” Saeki wasn’t sure he wanted to be responsible for Bane’s life any longer and with the guy’s back and forth demands, it was better to release him and even leave. With a nod and thought, the shadows were soon receding to their respective areas once more to leave Bane free to do as he pleased, which would have worried the smaller vampire if it wasn’t for the fact that the man still on the floor had to be in some pain and maybe even learned his lesson for the night.
No sooner had the shadowy tendrils uncoiled slithering away from him then Bane was springing to his feet and stalking toward the smaller vampire. He didn't touch Saeki until the last moment when back would have touched wall with the way he crowded the petite body he towered above.
Something good and solid snapped within him in the few moments when the tinier vampire's scent overwhelmed him, a beast awakening within after years of strangling its cries for release beneath the iron will he exerted driven by his fear of what he had become. Bane hated the idea of feeding from a human. Hell, he hated the idea of feeding at all and even though the hunger was strong, the cravings immense, he always denied himself. That is, until that moment when the most alluring smell assaulted his senses.
He didn't bother answering Saeki with more than a low growl when hands rose to slam against the wall on either side of slender shoulders, his taller form taking first one step and then another forward until all that separated them was a hairsbreadth of emptiness so easily closed. He dipped his head, chest vibrating with the feral rumble once more, even as he caged his prey with naught by the length of his arms and the shield of his body.
God, he thought, guided by something he didn't quite understand when nose nuzzled silkiness of hair and the softness of flesh, breath drawn and the essence of Saeki lurking just beneath the surface of every other smell inhaled. He smelled so good. Good enough to eat. So fucking good he could do naught about the fangs that sprang free, elongating in anticipation of the meal that lurked so close, if he opened his mouth and snapped his mouth over the jugular he slowly, systematically quested for with the nuzzling of nose and the sudden snaking forth of a tongue that laved over pale skin in one long, lazy lick from ear to collar and back again.
Saeki froze under the way he was so easily cornered and trapped, showing how little power he really had over the larger and much more intimidating vampire. He knew he needed to call his shadows to him once more or even to lift his knee to connect to a crotch he would take great pleasure in injuring but the intensity of the moment had him all off kilter. That is, until a tongue was on his neck as if preparing it for the sampling the lower class asshole would soon take. Like hell that was happening! It was one thing to give out permission or to have it done while caught up in the moment during sex but like this and with Bane? Fuck that.
“Oh I so don’t think you’re getting away with that!” Saeki’s words came out as a low growl as he put his earlier thoughts into practice and was soon lifting a knee to Bane’s crotch and eyeing a shadow just over Bane’s shoulder to come rescue him again by pulling the muscle head away once more. He hated that he had to see the shadows in order to use them but thankfully not many knew that weakness and his opponent hadn’t thought to blindfold him so the smooth tendril was once more wrapping around a waist and then joined by another at the neck still red from the first assault.
Holy fuck!
Bane dropped quickly. Or rather, he slumped forward when a knee slammed into his groin, a howl of pain muffled against the neck that had held his attention so thoroughly. The presence of shadows re-coiling around his neck and waist overlooked amongst the explosion of agony that raced along every nerve and clouded his brain, hazing it in a white-hot blanket of pain.
"You fucking bitch!" he groaned, struggling against an onslaught of multiple urges. One of which demanded he heft the smaller vampire up and slam his damn head through the wall in retaliation. The others? Well, they weren't quite so violent as that. He refused to reach for his cock and cup it, because doing so would officially announce just how much pain he was in and how true Saeki's attack had landed. Unfortunately, his refusal to do so saw him leaning heavily upon the smaller body he had caged moments before in the most unusual way, since his refusal to lay hands on the aristocrat had left plenty of room for Saeki to duck beneath his arm and scurry away. Now, however, his body truly acted as a weight, no matter how unintentional.
Drawing first one harsh panting breath and then another, he curled his fingers inwardly mindless to the pain of blunt nails digging into the wall. He trembled and shook as he fought his way through the haze of agony, struggling to control every urge to hurt as he had been hurt, until an ear was gifted with the low, husky snarl of. "If you don't want me doing that then get the fuck out like I told you to!" he ordered, praying the bastard would just so he could finally collapse and massage his aching balls.
"You're sorely mistaken if you think you can get nice and civilized from me." Except, that in itself was a shakily snapped lie as he had been nice earlier in catching his weight during the fall to protect that much smaller body from harm, and, hell! He had also been somewhat gentlemanly about leaving Saeki unhampered by touch of the hold of his hands when he backed him into that wall, an escape route left open to the petite aristocrat. However, he doubted the brat would see either action for what they were; a complete contradiction to the violent standoffish façade he wore to keep the world at bay. Not that he wanted Saeki to. No, he was quite content to leave him thinking he was nothing more than an asshole and jerk that would take what he wanted as he must have thought as a tongue laved over his skin, tasting and sampling as it went.
He was glad that his knee landed nice and square though he didn’t much appreciate the weight of the larger vampire now on him. If he had simply ducked under those arms that enclosed him but didn’t touch him, he could have had a clean escape though Saeki had a feeling that would have only landed him in another trapped situation since Bane seemed to have a thick skull and didn’t learn after the first or second time. But since he had shadows in place and it sounded like the towering roadblock was in pain, the smaller vampire felt it was the right time to follow that order he had been receiving since arriving.
With a thought, he had the shadows yank Bane off of him though it wasn’t as hard as before-or at least he didn’t want it to be-but hard enough to have the guy tumble backwards and away from the controller of shadows. “I think I’ll do just that. I’d hate to see you cry after all and it does sound like you’re on the verge of doing just so.” Saeki took a few steps away from Bane, adjusting his clothes first and then his hair as he moved for the door. “No need to deny it, I can hear it in the wobbling voice of yours.”
A smug smile was sent over his shoulder as Saeki tried to ignore his own pain in the groin area that he knew wasn’t as sore as Bane had to be and that, while making him regret his actions a little, also kept the smile in place. “Try to keep the noise down, darling.” And with that, Saeki had the door open and was heading on his way back to his room for a little check of the damaged areas.
Keep the noise down? Like hell he would, Bane thought moments after his back hit the ground though not nearly as hard as before. Telling him to keep the noise level down after kneeing him in the groin so fucking hard was akin to waving a red flag before a bull, and no sooner had he estimated that Saeki had plenty of time to get to his room below then Bane was climbing to his feet. He gingerly made his way toward the barbell that sat neatly tucked away in the corner of his room, just one of many varying pieces of weight-lifting paraphernalia scattered around his living space.
Hefting it up, he fought against the throbbing ache pulsating along his shaft and then quite deliberately (and with great relish) slammed the weighted piece to the floor.
Heh, he hoped the son of bitch broke right through the ceiling and fell on Saeki's head!
Saeki was indeed back in his room by the time Bane decided to get his noisy revenge and while it irritated the hell out of him, he knew the pain that would have added and simply let it go. Besides, why would he want to go back up there just to go through the same ordeal again? They both knew nothing would change no matter how many times they argued since Bane was an ass and didn’t listen to anyone and Saeki was willing to bet he didn’t in his human life either. So why waste the energy or risk another injury?
The ceiling did receive an annoyed roll of the eyes but Saeki did nothing more and let Bane wonder what would happen and if he would be attacked again by the shadows that lurked everywhere in his room or if he would receive some ear-bashing a harpy would be pleased with. With a book in hand, Saeki carefully flopped down on his bed and decided to kill a little time before a shower, ignoring the vampire that lived above him the best he could.
