Rin only went as far as his towel, stopping beside it and looking back at Kite with a coy smile. “Coming?” he asked, crooking a finger towards him.
"Not with you around, no," Kite chuckled, stepping out of the water without bothering to hide himself. He found his shorts and picked them up, then draped them over the same tree branch that held his shirt and towel to dry a bit. "....I've really got to stop making bad plays-on-words..."
“I’d agree.” Rin blushed, and made the sudden decision to sprawl face-down on his towel. “Because if you are, I think we’d have to have a little talk about things…like you needing to have your head examined~”
Kite found himself a nice spot of sun-warmed ground and lay in it, basking a little at the feel. "Mmm....My head is perfectly fine, thank you. It doesn't need any kind of examination." He turned and stuck his tongue out at Hirakoba for that.
“Naughty boy~!” Rin tsked, shaking his head with a grin. “Didn’t anyone tell you that you’re not supposed to stick it out unless you intend to use it~? I mean really, Kite, there’s rules~”
"Hmmm....I'll just have to find someone to use it on, then. I wonder who....." Kite teased, grinning right back at Hirakoba. "And for the record, I don't often like rules I didn't set myself."
“I have a few suggestions….” Rin closed his eyes, then rolled on his back to stare at the sky. “I’m just not going to make them to you.” And since Kite wasn’t found of those rules, he had no problem sticking his tongue out right back.
Kite just shrugged it off. "Oh I'll find plenty on my own, thanks. It's never been a problem before, after all..." He closed his eyes, face turned to the sun, purring at the warmth. I could just stay here all day long..........."
“You can. Not many people come here. Only two I know. Now three, counting you.” Rin sat up, gazing at something that was beyond sight. “I run here so often because I know no one else really comes here. He reluctantly reached for his shirt and pulled it on.
Kite raised an eyebrow when he heard a little rustling and opened his eyes, watching Hirakoba put his shirt back on. "Planning on going back, are you?" Or was there another reason Hirakoba was getting dressed, when he'd been nude this long?
“Did you notice how tan I’m not? I think I’ve had as much pure light as I can stand.” Rin looked around, then grabbed his shorts. “And, well….” He paused, then bit his lip. “Never mind~”
"...Does light really bother some vampires?" It was legend, or superstition, or something, but...Kite himself had no problem with it, at least so far. He sat up, though, eyeing his own clothes for a moment. "And well what?"
“I suppose the way it bothers some mortals. I mean, yeah, we operate much better in the dark. There’s a reason we have night classes, after all~” Rin tilted his head, thinking. “Some I know don’t tolerate it well at all. Most of them are higher ranked, though. Maybe it has to do with the purity of blood…hmm. I never thought about it too much. I just know that I can only take so much of it, and then I have get out of it.”
"Hm. If it does have to do with the purity of blood, then...the Purebloods shouldn't be able to handle it much at all.....and I... Well. I'm about as far from pure-blooded as a vampire gets, I suppose, which would explain why it doesn't seem to bother me.... It's a theory." Kite got up and went for his still-damp shorts, wringing them out as much as possible before putting them back on.
Rin silently congratulated himself on having made Kite forget about his other question. “Remember, though, they’re stronger than you in other ways. Maybe they don’t see much sun, but they are strong, and fast, have their powers, and usually have connected families, too.” He looked down at his shorts, still holding them in his hands. “Benefits always have their drawbacks elsewhere~” With a shrug, he dropped the shorts and went to sit by the water, dangling his feet in.
"Mmhm." Kite knew he'd been distracted, but......well. Whatever it was, Hirakoba obviously didn't want to talk about it. He hated letting people get away with 'never mind's, but this time, he allowed it. "I like to think that at the very least, I'd catch them off-guard, if I ever ended up in a fight with one."
“Kite,” Rin said, all seriousness. “You’re enough to take absolutely anyone off guard and just sweep them off their feet. Even without those fancy martial arts things that you do so well.”
Kite stretched a little, arms up above his head. "Is that so? Well. That's good to know," he chuckled. He nudged Hirakoba with his foot a little. "You included?"
Rin looked away from Kite. “Yes.” He stood suddenly, looking a bit confused and lost. “I should probably go back…you know the way back, right? I mean it’s not too hard to find, it’s a large building after all, and I’m pretty sure the fences run all around campus so you can never really leave the grounds.” As he spoke, Rin pulled on his shorts and gathered up his towel. “Enjoy the sun and water, Kite.”
"............." That was it. Hirakoba was acting suspicious, and his 'never mind' from earlier only made it worse. Something was up. It had to be. "Hirakoba-kun. What's going on? Why the sudden need to leave?" He went to the tree, pulled on his shirt, and slid on his sandals while tossing his towel over his shoulder. "What aren't you telling me?"
“Nothing~” Rin shook his head and put on a smile. “What are you up to? Didn’t you just say that you wanted to spend all day right here~? I’ve just…simply had my fill of daylight, that’s all~!” He wasn’t even fooling himself as he backed towards the tree line, calculating his chances for escape. Not that blonds could really blend in with the trees, but he was good at fleeing situations, after all, and familiarity with the grounds had to count for something.
Kite's brow furrowed. Somehow, he didn't think it was just having had his fill of the sun. "I said I could. But I'm not in the mood to do it alone." He stepped towards Hirakoba, slowly, as if hurrying towards him would spook him and make him run, somehow. "Hirakoba-kun...."
“I thought you valued your alone time~?” Rin tried to tease as he took another step back, then found he’d miscalculated a little. Back to a tree. “You’re…not buying a single word I say, are you?”
"I do. When I need or want it. Now isn't one of those times." He shook his head - no, he wasn't buying a bit of it. "Hirakoba-kun. I beat you in our swimming race, and I'm much faster on land. Stop trying to run and talk to me."
“I could still try….” Rin even edged to the side a little, clearly contemplating taking off. He had no doubts Kite could catch him, but if he was lucky, the trees would throw him off some….
But no. Somehow, Rin really didn’t feel like being tackled to the ground and being sat on or glared at, or whatever Kite could decide to do if he took it into his mind to try. He hung his head, and, in a soft voice, admitted something he hadn’t really wanted to. “I’m scared.”
Kite blinked. Scared? Well. That much was fairly obvious. Hirakoba was in such a hurry to get the hell out of there, after all.... "Of what, Hirakoba-kun? What's scaring you?" He spoke softly, trying not to make it any worse than it already was.
“Me. This. You.” For a moment, Rin wasn’t sure he could even begin to elaborate. “This…this thing, where I feel like I’ve known you my entire life, and I can’t remember the last time I’ve trusted someone so instinctively. Where for some reason, I feel like I could tell you anything, or nothing at all, and it wouldn’t change a thing between us.” His eyes were closed. “The talking, the teasing, the contact…it’s too right and it’s too much, and not enough at the same time. And it scares me.”
Well that caught Kite off-guard. Although, when he thought about it....it was a little strange. They'd clicked right off the bat, talking and bantering like old friends, despite having never met. But Kite wasn't the kind to question things like that. Still... "If you want me to leave you alone and give you space, I will. All you have to do is ask." But he'd still consider Hirakoba his friend. He'd still listen, if HIrakoba wanted to talk, keep him company if he was lonely....
Rin was quiet for several minutes, eyes closed, lost in thought. He actually had no idea what he wanted, other than to have it all make sense, but bolts from the blue were rare for a reason. He did, however, know he was on dangerous ground and had to be careful. Both because Rin knew he was still learning to not hide himself behind masks and walls, and because he knew he could do something very stupid if he let himself, or if Kite let him. But at the same time, Rin had made a vow to live his life the way he wanted to…didn’t he have to be true to that, too?
“Don’t leave me alone.” He hadn’t planned on saying that, but as soon as the words left his mouth, Rin knew they were the right ones.
Kite smiled when Hirakoba finally answered. "I won't," he promised, not sure if he should just stand there or tug the guy into a hug. Either could be the wrong move in a delicate situation. "Even if you told me to, I wouldn't completely anyway, so there's no worries there." He'd have found little ways to make sure Hirakoba knew he still was there, and still cared. Because that was how he was.
Rin made the decision for Kite, throwing his arms around the other guy’s neck and pulling him into a hug. “As long as you don’t become some sort of crazy stalker or something,” he murmured into Kite’s neck. “Because that would be so not fabulous.” Surprisingly, he was feeling a little better now that he had admitted that much. Part of him still wanted to run, but he was able to work through that panic.
Kite smiled and hugged him back, squeezing tight. "I won't. If you need me to be there for you, I'll be there. If you want me to leave you alone for a day or two, just say so, and I will. I can't promise I won't ask questions, though," he chuckled.
“And I can’t promise I’ll answer,” Rin replied with a smile. “But I’ll smile nicely when you ask me~” He sighed and rested his head on Kite’s shoulder. “I don’t want to let go,” he confessed. “Why is that?”
"That's alright. If you just keep insisting that I go, eventually, I'll quit asking and do it," Kite chuckled. He tipped his head and rest it against Hirakoba's. "You said it yourself, earlier. You feel safe around me. Even if some part of you is scared of me, of this - whatever it is - some part of you feels safe, too."
That close to Kite, Rin’s breath caught, and he couldn’t look away from Kite’s eyes. “I wish I knew why I feel safe,” he murmured. “Especially when it seems so…dangerous, too.”
"Well, hopefully...it's because you know I won't push you into anything you're really not ready for. I want you to tell me everything you're hiding......but in your own time. When you're ready to, and not before. Because you know I'll protect you from those that mean you harm." He totally understood the danger, though. Hirakoba had someone, already. Yet there they were, flirting, teasing, tempting...pushing at the line without crossing it... And it was damn hard not to.
“You’re a regular knight in shining armor,” Rin said with a smile. “I feel like I should be dressed like a princess right now so you can sweep me away into the sunset~” He paused, then brushed a kiss over Kite’s cheek. “I think I’ll be ready sooner than not,” he whispered against the smooth skin.
Kite blinked, surprised by the kiss. And glad it hadn't been somewhere else, because he likely wouldn't have been able to control himself if it had. "Just...whenever you're ready. Whether that's tomorrow or a hundred years from now."
“Probably will be somewhere between the two,” Rin said wryly, slowly pulling back and letting his arms fall away. “Even with my ability to exaggerate at times.” He pressed back against the tree again, putting some distance between them.
Kite just smiled. "I'm in no hurry." He was really glad he didn't have to chase Hirakoba down anymore. It was almost like dealing with a stray cat, in a way. No matter how much it seemed to trust you, one wrong move might send it running away. But Kite vowed to himself he'd be careful.
Slowly, Rin started to calm down. “I really should go back, though. I wasn’t completely trying to mislead you when I said I’ve had more than enough daylight for one day.” He reached out and touched Kite’s cheek. “You should totally stay, though, if you like it.”
Kite nodded. "And I wasn't lying when I said I'm not in the mood to enjoy it alone. I'll walk back with you. If you don't mind." And he could check his mail again. There hadn't been anything there, this morning, which probably meant he'd been too early. Or maybe he was just being too hopeful for a reply from his family. "I can always come back, now that I know the way here."
“I don’t mind at all.” Rin sidled out from between Kite and the tree. “It’s better than being lost in the woods, at least~” He stretched. “Mmmm…I may nap for awhile when we get back. Considering I’m still supposed to be taking it easy and all. Or maybe I’ll just sleep through until night.”
"Mm. You are. Today was hardly taking it easy. But at least you still seem alright, for which I'm very relieved." Kite waked beside Hirakoba, trying to pick out the places to turn before they actually turned, to make sure he knew the route. It would be nice to come back, to get away from things every now and then. And it was a pretty safe place for nude sunbathing, if his tan started to fade...
“I have a hard head.” Rin was almost bouncing ahead of Kite. And in truth, if he hadn’t been feeling good, he would’ve hidden it anyway. “It takes a lot to break me…you’ve seen the evidence of that today, you know.” Because Rin knew his scars had been on full display. “I don’t break physically, anyway.”
Kite nodded. He'd seen the scars... Assumed they were something Hirakoba would talk about when he was ready, so he hadn't pried. "It's good to be durable, physically and mentally." He caught up to Hirakoba and matched his pace, hands in the pockets of his trunks.
The thing was, Rin wasn’t at all sure that he wouldn’t crack mentally by the time this was all over, so he wisely didn’t comment on that. Instead he slowed his steps so he fell behind Kite, head tilted up towards the canopy, watching the leaves rustle in the slight breeze. “Hmmmm~”
Kite turned and made sure Hirakoba was still walking. "Everything alright?" he asked, just checking. He still wasn't quite used to the little shifts in mood that Hirakoba seemed to experience, so he didn't know whether to let him be or pester.
“Fine~” It was the only thing Rin said before he suddenly jumped up and grabbed one of the branches overhead, swinging himself into a tree easily. “Everything’s fine~!” And when Rin climbed high enough, being surrounded by green was almost as good as being surrounded by water.
Kite stared up, watching Hirakoba climb. So not only did the guy scale walls, but he climbed trees, too. Good to know. Tree climbing was one thing Kite hadn't ever done, though, so instead of climbing up after him, he plopped down onto the ground to wait for him to come down.
Rin had no desire to come down. Not, at least, until he felt a bit more stable, a bit less raw and exposed. He peered down at Kite through the branches, weighing ideas in his head until a mischievous smirk pulled at his lips. The trees were large enough and close enough…. Carefully, Rin made his way from the tree he was in to the next one, and the one after that. If he played his cards right, Kite might not have any idea what he was up to.
Kite tried to follow Hirakoba's motions in the trees, but the wind was blowing so he couldn't quite be sure if what he was seeing was just the wind or actually Hirakoba. Eventually, he gave up and just enjoyed nature for a while, waiting.
Several trees away Rin paused, trying to make a decision. Did he drop back to the ground and poke Kite, or did he drop back on the ground and continue on his way. A glance at Kite made his decision…he looked so peaceful there~! Rin dropped to the ground quietly and crept back towards the school. It was as good a time as any to see if Kite had meant it when he could smell Rin and know when he was hiding or running.
When the wind died down, the trees were completely still. Either Hirakoba was as still as they were, or he'd..... He wouldn't, would he? Kite stood and looked around, still not seeing anything. Time to put his nose to use, he supposed, and closed his eyes. Concentrating on the scents around him, he sniffed the air (and felt vaguely like a dog doing it) until his nose caught that familiar scent. Okinawan beach, with a little something else... Sure he couldn't smell home this far away, he followed it.
Rin was almost acting like he was sneaking around enemy territory, the way he was edging around trees and all, and he was enjoying every moment of it! With all the greenery and dirt and…other things, Rin was sure Kite really couldn’t smell him, so he was going to milk this for all it was worth.
Once Kite had locked onto the scent, he started running, following every twist and turn that made it just a little bit stronger than before. He grinned a little. Having a sense of smell this good could be dangerous for any poor prey..... He could smell the soil and the flora, but the beach was a very unique, distinct scent.
Rin muffled a giggle when he could hear Kite chasing after him. This was fun~! He thought for a moment about jumping back up into the trees, but a better idea came to Rin, and he went for it. Using his slightly greater knowledge of the woods to his advantage, he circled around so he was behind Kite, the follower becoming the followed.
Kite stopped in his tracks for a moment and sniffed the air again. Hirakoba had doubled back.... He closed his eyes again and focused, scenting him out, and when he found him, he opened his eyes again. Hirakoba wouldn't get away this time. With a careful focus on the scent, Kite used the fastest move he knew - Shukuchihou - and found himself at Hirakoba's side in an instant. "...Nice try."
Rin blinked, then laughed. “How do you do that~?” he asked. “I thought for sure I was going to be able to pounce you…though considering how that worked out last time, maybe it’s better I didn’t end up all over you~” He did wrap his arms around one of Kite’s thought, giving him his best “infatuated fangirl” look. “Oooooh, Ki~te-sama~! You’re sooooo amazing~!”
"How do I do what?" Kite asked, ignoring the fangirling. "I told you I could find you by scent, you know. ...And for the record, martial arts makes it harder to sneak up on me. You've got a long way to go, yet, if that's your plan," he chuckled, ruffling Hirakoba's hair with his free hand.
“I meant the fast steppy thingy you did there~” Rin was torn for a moment between leaning into Kite’s hand or pulling away, and pulling away won out at the last second, releasing Kite as he dodged the hand in his hair. “Hmmm~ So I’ll have to go further and faster to escape you, I see. And with no warning, too…good to know~”
"It's called Shukuchihou. Mostly it's used for front-to-back or back-to-front movements, but that's because there aren't many that have the balance to use it in any other direction." Kite was one of those few. The sensei that had taught him the move was the only other person he knew with the balance for it. "If you just up and disappear, with no warning, rest assured I will find you. Especially if I have reason to be worried."
“If I up and disappear, it’s because either I don’t want to be found, or I can’t be found.” Rin looked down at the ground. “If it’s the first, I know I’ll be found anyway. If it’s the second, I hope no one would be stupid enough to go charging in anyway~” He continued back towards the school. “So you must be pretty stable, hmm~? Hard to knock over?”
Kite made a note of it...and smirked a little to think that yes, he probably would be stupid enough to charge in anyway, if the latter happened. "Very hard to knock over. My record for standing on one leg is nineteen hours straight," he chuckled. "And Capoeira, one of the arts I know, requires steady balance while on your hands instead of on your feet. If I had to, I could walk upside down all day."
Rin stopped in his tracks and stared at Kite. “Can I ask why on Earth you’d even want to stand on one leg for that long?” he asked, incredulous. “That seems to be rather, umm, extreme. Though…I guess it must make shower sex fun~! Having that balance and all~”
"It was part of my training, to learn the Shukuchihou. In fact, it's the Shukuchihou that got me really into learning martial arts at all. If it weren't for that....I don't know what I would've done with my life." Kite smiled at the memory that went with that story, even if it wasn't one he'd told people... Not even his mom knew the whole bit behind it.
“You would’ve done something…someone like you? You’re meant for great things.” Rin ducked a low hanging branch. “Don’t ask me how I know, but I do. In here,” he touched over his heart, “I do.” He ran a hand through his hair, sagging a little. “Why am I so tired? I should have more energy than this~”
Kite laughed. "Maybe. Maybe I would've ended up a delinquent. It's hard to say," he shrugged. He noticed the way Hirakoba was slumping and frowned. "Maybe you should have taken it easy today, too. At any rate, once we get back to the dorm, you should probably get in bed and rest."
“I’m not meant to take it easy.” Rin’s steps were slowing, though, and he was watching the ground to make sure he didn’t trip over anything. “I’m a perpetual motion machine, and stopping is a sign or weakness~ Especially in front of someone…but yes, I think I’ll lay down for a bit inside.”
Kite quirked an eyebrow. "Okay...your first lesson in martial arts. Stopping is never a sign of weakness. Know your limits. Know when to push past them, and when to stop. It is considered a great strength to know the difference between the two." He stayed close to Hirakoba, just in case, but he let the stubborn fellow walk on his own.
Rin set his jaw stubbornly. “Looking weak can get you killed,” he insisted. “I didn’t get this far by giving even an appearance of weakness, because doing that gives someone a way in.” It was a hard fact of life, and if he had to do otherwise, Rin wasn’t sure he wanted a part of it. “Especially when-crap!” Rin scowled as he stumbled, barely keeping from ending up on his face. “Fine, I give in. I think I found my limits.” He looked ahead. “The dorms aren’t too far, though.”
"There's a difference between looking weak and stopping because you're at your limit. There are always things to do within your limits, if you need them---" He stopped when Hirakoba tripped and managed to help catch him. He pulled him up, then, and turned to put his back towards Hirakoba....And without giving him a chance to say no, he picked Hirakoba up piggy-back style. "You're definitely at your limits."
“You’re not going to dump me on my head, are you~?” Rin wrapped his arms around Kite, resting his head on Kite’s shoulder. “Just follow the path, it’ll bring you right behind our dorm,” he directed, closing his eyes for a minute. “If you haven’t noticed, I’m kind of an all or nothing person, Kite…I’m afraid I don’t pay attention to things like limits as a general rule.”
"No, no. I learned my lesson from that. And one of the first techniques I teach you in martial arts will be how to roll out of a situation like that without getting hurt." Just in case. And because he'd feel better about it. "I have noticed. But perhaps it's time you start paying attention to them, at least a little." He walked for a part of the way, then grinned. "Feel up to seeing what the Shukuchihou is like first-hand?"
“So that means I can look forward to being dumped in the name of learning~?” Rin chuckled, then blinked. “What do you mean, seeing what it’s like first-hand? Didn’t I see that when you kind of appeared out of nowhere before?” he teased.
"No more dumping. I'll teach you the basic roll...it's actually an AIkido move, the way I do it, but it works best. When you've mastered it, it becomes habit, and any time you fall, you prepare yourself to roll. Even if you don't quite roll right, it does far less damage than just landing." Kite smirked at Hirakoba's question, and took a moment to shift the weight on his back. With the extra weight, he couldn't go as fast for as long, but he could do a shorter burst at the same speed as without the weight.... He took a breath..."Hold on, Hirakoba-kun." And then he was off, crossing the remaining distance between them and the dorm in a flash.
“Kite~!” Rin held onto Kite tightly, taken aback when suddenly the world flashed, and they were moving any faster than Rin thought they had a right to without a vehicle. “Holy shit!” He closed his eyes, both loving the feel of moving so fast, and hating feeling out of control of what was happening. The second that Kite stopped, Rin let go, sliding off of his back. “That…I hope you’re not that fast in other things,” was all he could say.
Kite laughed good and hard, despite being a little out of breath. Hirakoba's weight had made for a good workout. "I'm nowhere near that fast in....other things," Kite smirked, taking a moment to catch his breath. He stood up straight and watched Hirakoba for a moment, making sure the guy was alright. "Not dizzy or anything? Still feeling okay?"
Rin shook his head, then was immediately a little lightheaded. “Not at all~” he chirped, heading for the building carefully. If he was walking a little too straight, so be it. “I’m sure all of your partners are glad about that. I mean, if you tried to just spread my legs and fuck me, I’d laugh you out of bed~”
Kite kept an eye on Hirakoba, just in case. He was worried, but Hirakoba was independent enough that it wouldn't suprise Kite at all if any more help was refused. "I would never do that. I consider it disrespectful to not include foreplay." Hell, foreplay was half the fun. Sex wouldn't be nearly as good without the teasing....
“Sex isn’t sex without foreplay.” Rin nodded as he held tight to the stairwell banister, slowly navigating the stairs. “Something’s missing if you don’t spend time trying to drive you partner absolutely insane with need and desire~” He thought for a moment. “I think it could be my favorite part of the act, actually. Yeah, the penetration’s nice, but nothing’s better than having the anticipation build and build.”
Kite decided he'd walk Hirakoba up to his room, first, before going back down a floor to his own. He didn't like the way Hirakoba was holding onto the railing. He also had to bite his tongue against a comment of how compatible in bed it sounded like they'd be. Did not need that... "Mmhmm..." was all he answered instead, not trusting himself with words at the moment.
Rin fell quiet, needing to focus more than to ramble about things he was sure that Kite didn’t care one bit about. He just kept going, one foot in front of the other, pausing on the fourth floor landing. “Here’s your stop~”
Kite shook his head. "We're dropping you off first. Just one more floor." He was fully prepared to carry Hirakoba the rest of the way up if he had to, but for now he just put an arm around Hirakoba and steered him towards the stairs. "Besides, I could use the extra exercise..." he added, trying to keep the mood light.
“Try running up and down the stairs~ I’ve done that, and it’s great for the legs and ass, though sometimes yelling happens when I do that….” Even as he talked, Rin wasn’t thinking about his words, too busy telling himself to not swoon like a girl. It was only a flight of stairs…half a flight…made it! And Rin was somehow proud of himself for doing that, even if he did have to stop for a moment at the top.
"Running in general is good for legs and ass," Kite chuckled. "Though I can see why the stairs are probably not the best place for it." He kept his arm around Hirakoba for support when it looked like the guy might fall, but then they were at the top, and Kite let him have his moment. "........You really don't look so well...You're definitely lying down once we get you to your room."
“I am.” Rin wasn’t even about to try and argue that fact at that point. “Just as soon as I get there.” It took all of his mental will to open the stairwell door, and the hallway seemed impossibly long. “I can do this,” he whispered, though he did lean into Kite a little more, the only indication he was willing to give that he was at the end of his stamina.
Kite thought about letting him walk, but when Hirakoba leaned against him, he gave it up. He bent down and scooped Hirakoba up into his arms, and proceeded to carry him down the hall towards his room. "All you need to do is get out your room key and unlock the door. Leave the rest to me." Hirakoba definitely shouldn't have been out swimming today, but it was too late for that.
About all Rin could do was grumble under his breath about being carried around like a bride as he fumbled in his pocket for his key. “Are you going to tuck me into bed and read me a story, too?” he asked, then sighed. “Damnit…I can’t go right to bed. I need to change, and possibly shower first.” Rin’s head fell against Kite’s shoulder. “So you can just leave at the door, Kite. Thank you for doing this.”
"Go right to bed. Sleep nude, if you can't stand sleeping in what you're in, and shower later, after you wake up again." Kite wasn't asking, or suggesting. He was telling, because he was worried. "You're already practically asleep. Pushing yourself any further would be stupid." They were at the door, finally, but Kite made no move to put HIrakoba down.
“Kite….” Rin squirmed, but when Kite’s grip showed no signs of slacking, he gave up and twisted as best as he could to get the door unlocked from his position. “Alright, alright…I’ll go right to bed,” he said, to all appearances giving in. Nothing that said he couldn’t do what he needed to once Kite had left him.
Kite gently set Hirakoba down, but still kept an arm around him just in case. "Promise me. Straight to bed." With his free hand, he turned the knob and pushed open the door.
“I’m going…see? This is me, going to bed….” Rin pulled away from Kite and staggered to the closest bed…which happened to be Kai’s. Eh. Good enough. Getting his shirt off was easy enough, but the shorts gave Rin a bit of difficulty, the button being more than Rin could coordinate. “Don’t suppose I could ask for help with these…forget it.”
"....." Kite went in and undid Hirakoba's shorts, tugging them off and letting them fall to the floor with Hirakoba's shirt. It wasn't like he hadn't seen the guy naked before, after all. Then he proceeded to tuck Hirakoba into bed, almost like he would've done with his sister. "Rest well, alright? Please."
“Mmmmm…we’ll see…” Rin grabbed a pillow and curled around it. “I hope you had a good time, at least,” he said, turning over so that his back was to Kite. “Even if I did drag it down with all of this.”
"Don't be so hard on yourself, Hirakoba-kun. I had fun, even with all this." Kite ruffled Hirakoba's hair a little and turned to go, to let Hirakoba get as much rest as possible. He just hoped the guy would actually stay in bed...
