Saeki Kojirou was always curious and loved knowing about new arrivals and trying to be the first to meet them. So it wasn't any wonder when word hit that a new teacher was already on campus that the vampire was already looking into gathering information. He knew the teacher was female and word had it she was pretty hot as well but when he finally found the right person to flirt with to get a name, he froze up.

Fuji Yumiko?

There was absolutely no way that could be his Yumiko, right? Well, maybe it could be. The brothers were already students here and the sister would be about the right age to begin teaching and given her interest in tarot cards and how comfortable she was with a vampire befriending her beloved brothers, it did sort of make sense that Eclipse would be her school of choice. He definitely had to check this out and it couldn't wait until first class since he couldn't predict his reaction the first time he glimpsed her again and didn't want an audience.

After primping to make sure his hair was as fabulous as usual and clothes looked amazing, Saeki slipped into his shadows and out of the Dusk dorm to the school. How lucky was he that she wasn't in the teachers' lodgings but preparing her classroom? The thought to check the school first seemed more appealing than getting too close to the hunter turned teacher and relief swept through him when a light was seen on in the music room. Slipping free of the shadows, Saeki prepared himself for a detention if this was a different Yumiko and walked into the room to make his presence known.

"Is it too early to inquire about private music lessons?" Perhaps not the smoothest of openings but it was pretty neutral and it would hopefully serve the purpose of getting the teacher's attention and have her turn to face him.

It was still an hour or two to her first class tonight and Yumiko was procrastinating. She was a having a childish urge to stomp her foot and whine “I don’t wannaaaaa!” instead of making her mission plan. It was all Ryoga-san’s fault! The man had probably thought he was being nice by giving her “some” tips on how to handle the Night classes. Telling her: Don’t do this and NEVER do that and remember not to do the third thing. Her head was spinning.

She wasn’t supposed to be this nervous about keeping classes anymore. The warm welcome in the Day classes the day before had boosted her self-confidence as high as it could go. More likely… Could she really handle a class full of vampires alone?

She set her pen down and fiddled the hem of her skirt which was somewhere around her mid-thigh. She shouldn’t have anything to worry about. She knew a cute vampire kid and that kid wasn’t one bit scary. Then again thinking about the last vampire she’d met, she might have to be careful. “Hmm…” She lifted her head and picked up the pen to look at least a little more attentive when she heard someone enter the room.

One look at the boy who just walked in and she forgot what she’d been thinking. “Saa, if you ask nicely I might think about it.” She had expected to meet with an old acquaintance but though it now seemed the most probable choice, she had to admit she hadn’t expected to meet with little Saeki Kojirou again. Yumiko smiled leaning her cheek to her palm. This was a happy surprise. “Hello, Sae-chan~”

Saeki's flirtatious and casual grin nearly slipped when that melodious voice that haunted him in his childhood filled the classroom. It was like chimes, or maybe a choir of angels... he always thought Yumiko's voice was one of the sweetest sounds he had ever heard and with that simple greeting, he still believed it. "Yu... Yumiko," he hated himself in that moment. Why was he stammering her name and feeling so flustered? Hadn't he outgrown any awkwardness? Hell, had he even gone through that awkward stage teenagers were supposed to hit? Saeki knew himself to exude confidence and not lack in any area but with the long-legged vision of beauty before him again, he found himself wondering if he was up to her standards or still just a friend of her brothers.

Briefly looking away to collect himself, Saeki willed himself to stay calm and pretend she was just another girl that had earned his attention and not the hot older sister he crushed on of the best friend he crushed on. He was so messed up. "I heard there was a gorgeous new teacher and immediately thought of you but didn't think it actually would be. I'm pleasantly surprised." Not too bad, he told himself as he made his feet move and meandered further into the classroom to get a proper size-up of the woman.

“Flattery, flattery…” Yumiko waved her hand modestly. Oh she knew the reaction boys had on her. She quite deliberately moved her left media-covered leg on top the other and rolled her ankle once, bending down in her chair to rub it lightly. It was for show of course -her ankle barely hurt anymore - and it was done in order to give the male occupant in the room a nice view of her cleavage. She found flustered boys extremely cute after all, and there was no harm in letting them admire her nice body. Saeki was early, so he got a private show. It was only fair.

Her locket hit her knee twice before she straightened her back again. It settled back into its place between her breasts - the safest place in the world, as her ex-girlfriend used to say. Yumiko gave her little brothers’ vampire-friend a considering look. “Sae-chan on the other hand is as cute as ever.”

Too many thoughts raced around in circles in his mind when Yumiko moved. Saeki couldn't decide what to focus on-the ankle she rubbed, the cleavage he knew he was supposed to look at, the locket that seemed like something you got as a gift and not for yourself, or the flattery meant to fluster him further since she was a Fuji and they were all evil like that. "I prefer to think I'm sexy, not cute. And please refrain from calling me that in front of people. I already have an adorable redhead I'm trying to break that habit with." It was best to focus on himself, he decided though his body acted on its own to tend to the ankle and left him kneeling before the woman he once idolized as a goddess.

He would not try for a peek up the skirt, Saeki told himself as he daringly took a foot in his hand, fingers brushing over the ankle he saw Yumiko tend to. "Were you running away from your admirers while wearing stilettos?" He was seriously trying to keep his usual cool and felt he was portraying that nicely even though on the inside he was still confused and even nervous. Who the hell thought Saeki Kojirou would be nervous around someone? The vampire in question sure didn't think it was possible before that moment.

Yumiko wasn’t about to make that promise, so she let the comment pass unacknowledged in favour of his next question. “Yes, but an admirer? Saa…” The boy knelt in front of her and she lifted her hand to touch her lips. Maybe “cute” wasn’t the word she’d been looking for. Saeki was the kind of dreamy boy she would’ve admired while still in high school. A heart-breaker. “I was rather rudely told I was a convenient prey.” The slight ache seemed to disappear, or maybe it was just the sight of his silver-haired admirer that made her forget it. She truly felt like a queen.

“I wonder how come you grew up to be this cool, Saeki-kun. You’re like a real prince~” Yumiko chuckled warmly. She reached out her carefully manicured hand and ruffled Saeki’s hair gently. Once upon a time she had considered adopting the boy as her third little brother. It had been silly, considering Saeki-kun already had his own family, but she had thought the house had never been quite as bright as when the three boys were there to bother her while she was doing her home work or cooking.

Rage burned within cerulean eyes when Yumiko's words connected and she had been attacked. Too bad his completely cool moment of swearing revenge in her name was taken away when a hand ruffled his perfectly styled hair. "Aw, Yumiko..." Saeki hated the whine but it was annoying to have that done and the darkness in his eyes faded with the wrinkling of his nose. He had to wonder how one human woman could make him swing through emotions so quickly and leave him grasping for something he knew how to handle.

"To answer you slightly out of order... I've always been this cool and I'll only be a prince if you'll be my princess," smooth, the vampire thought with a proud smirk in his head. Too bad he couldn't quite look Yumiko in the eyes as he said it but focused on gently massaging the ankle that served as a nice distraction. "Although, I'll gladly play your knight as well if you tell me who hurt you." The rage that had sparked may have faded but he wasn't about to let someone get away with hurting someone dear to him.

“Oops,” the woman chuckled again, pulling her hand back. She wasn’t one bit sorry, though - she knew quite well that boys very rarely admitted to liking her little shows of affection. It didn’t stop her from giving them. Sometimes people had to make sacrifices for their loved ones. Hearing his answer made Yumiko laugh, an honest heartfelt laugh. It didn’t seem like her Sae-chan had changed much inwardly and it relieved her. She brushed a stray curl behind her ear and licked her lips. “I think I’ll rather be your queen, seeing as I’m hardly a girl anymore, and I rule over this classroom.”

The empty benches greeted her eyes as she let them once again take in the classroom. Yes, she would be their queen. Nobody touched a queen without permission. Except… She returned her eyes to the boy in front of her. The cool prince from a distant land - it fit Saeki to a t. “You don’t have to worry about such things, Saeki-kun. That- person- has already been taken care off.”

Saeki knew a shut down when he heard one-not that he ever received them-and while he was disappointed in it, it was also expected. Yumiko was a Fuji and more like Syuusuke than Yuuta and Syuusuke was the master of either being oblivious to his advances or just took delight in leading him around only to ignore him. Yumiko was also a few years older and while he was damn good at flirting, Saeki wasn't quite sure he was at the level to win over every woman over twenty he met. But he had to be able to look her in the eye for more than pointless conversations to get anywhere and Saeki decided he was ready for that step and glanced away from the ankle to eyes the entire family seemed to possess which always enthralled the vampire.

"I may have missed out on protecting you once already when you needed it but I promise to be your knight from this moment on. The queen is much more important than some random princess, right?" Momentarily catching his confidence again, Saeki grinned, setting the foot gently back down and turned his kneeling into a bow of knight to his queen.

If there was something Saeki had naturally, it was charm. Yumiko quite happily let the boy pull her into this imaginary game, which - had it been anyone else - would’ve been probably the worst pick-up line she had ever heard. She leaned forward to lay her hand upon Saeki’s shoulder and bent her head to kiss his hair. “Then, I’ll hold you onto your promise. Just don’t put yourself in unnecessary danger for little old me only.”

Speaking of Saeki’s hair, she was remembering her infatuation with it in the old days. For now she had to reign in her desire to mess with it again, if only not to make him take revenge on her later. She was perhaps already acting too familiar with a boy she hadn’t seen in a long time. So, though her fingers were twitching towards the silver head, Yumiko held back, pulling her hand back and setting it back on her lap. “Little knight,” she added teasingly.

Saeki beamed from the kiss and was again thankful he had looked down to the floor, trying to act like a proper knight so hopefully his childishness over such a small thing went unseen. Normally he was the one causing people to blush and stammer and beam like fools and it was odd to be the one doing it. It had to be the Fuji clan's fault somehow-that was his story and he was sticking with it.

"I'm tougher than I look so I don't worry about your knight," his smile returned to one of arrogance when he looked up at Yumiko and finally stood. He would have happily stayed at her feet, giving out massages, but the risk of his hair being touched yet again was too high and Saeki wasn't willing to have it messed up completely, not even for Yumiko. Convincing himself that she was just another pretty face that probably wanted him and not a childhood fantasy, Saeki leaned against the edge of the desk, arms crossing lightly over his chest as blue eyes took in her appearance, properly appreciating what was seen.

She really hadn't changed outside of maturing from a cute teenager into a beautiful woman and that pleased Saeki. Still, casual conversation was a good direction after the awkward greeting and sub-par flirting he had given. "I'm willing to bet you're here to keep an eye on your brothers. Actually, that might worry me a bit. You always seemed to show up when they were in trouble." Even though she was human, Yumiko had a gift with the tarot cards and Saeki had never doubted her after seeing how accurate they could be when in her hands.

She was almost disappointed that Saeki hadn’t even tried to look under her skirt, which would’ve been quite normal teenage behaviour in her opinion. Yumiko didn’t remember having ever been especially insulted when boys in high school ogled at her during windy days when her skirt was in her ears most of the time. But Saeki was a gentleman. She was proud of him in a sisterly sort of way and wondered briefly if there was a girl he liked in the school.

However, the talk seemed to turn to her favourite subject - her darling little brothers. Smiling, Yumiko leaned back in her chair and pushed her long hair back. She closed her eyes for a moment, fingering the chain of her locket where she held the most important ones of her possessions. “Call it an instinct,” she admitted, but chuckled then. Serious stuff wasn’t for children and forces of destiny weren’t a playground. “Or then I just wanted to try my hand at teaching, since I have always been wonderful with kids.”

"Are you implying you still see me as a kid?" Saeki couldn't let that comment slide and found himself easily dropping the topic of the siblings. Besides, he realized once it had started, that was a dangerous topic to be on if Yumiko was still as perceptive as she had always seemed to be and knew his feelings toward one of the brothers. He really didn't need to deal with that, especially with the other sibling he had a crush on. Anyway, Saeki wasn't sure if he was insulted by her choice of words considering they were probably said casually as an adult who referred to students as kids and the smile he gave soon after his question showed he was teasing her; although he was more than willing to prove his manhood if need be. Alas, he had a feeling he still had a long way to go before reaching that point with any of the Fuji siblings.

Dangerous topic, Yumiko thought, watching the boy carefully through her return smile. These times she wished there were more answers than yes and no. She set her both feet on the floor and stood up gracefully, rounding the table to close her cool little prince into her warm embrace. “Admitting anything else would make me feel old, Sae-chan,” she whispered in a tone that said: You don’t want to make me feel old.

She pulled slightly back and caught a lock of silver hair between her fingers, letting it fall free from her grasp almost immediately. It was such a beautiful hair. She chuckled. “Saa, perhaps you’ll always be the adorable little Saeki Kojirou to me.”

Oh, she was good, Saeki conceded to losing the round with Yumiko and realized he really did have a long way to go to be on par with this woman. Her words were perfectly spoken to ease any upset he felt and make him feel guilty for making her think she was old. There was also the hug that had the effect of making him want to melt into a puddle since he knew it wouldn't last long enough to enjoy properly. "I don't think anyone as beautiful as you would ever be seen as old even if you lived passed one hundred," why did every flirtatious line he spoke that night seem so ridiculously cheesy and something a ten year old came up with?

"And I'm not adorable," okay, that definitely sounded like a ten year old when he pouted at being called something other than hot or sexy since it felt like he would never be recognized as anything more than another little brother. Saeki supposed that was how Yuuta felt with him, especially after that whole game with confessing his love to Syuusuke and then telling the little brother that was all he was to the school player as well. What goes around, comes around.

Yumiko chuckled easily. Saeki was way too adorable, whatever he said. Though it was maybe a little harder thinking him as the little boy when she was standing in front of him, on par with her in her high heels. It was a little sad. Boys grew up so fast. “Flattery, I’m telling you,” she said lightly, ruffling Saeki’s hair again, this time lightly enough to not make it a complete mess.

She returned behind her desk with more energy than she’d had before. “Are you in a hurry? There’s still good twenty minutes before the class. I want to know more about what Saeki-kun has been doing all this time~”

Saeki still felt the urge to bat away her hand which in any other setting would have been allowed to mess up his hair completely but he had classes to attend and people to charm with his looks to get through first. "Definitely no hurry. Someone would have to be insane to walk away from you before they absolutely had to," he felt his game was starting to come back to him and the vampire settled in for a talk about his favourite subject-himself. Then again, Yumiko would only have to smile or hug him again to throw him off kilter once more. The vision of his face nearly being buried in cleavage from the last hug stuck with him and Saeki had to work to forget it before he was flustered again.

The entire Fuji family did strange things to him.
