Hah! George Washington says, "Say it, don't spray it!"

Isn't "Shift not yourself in the sight of others" covered by "put not your hands to any Part of the Body, not usualy Discovered?" ;P

Seriously, I'd say almost all of those still apply today!

Oddly, it sounds painfully like the lectures I used to get from my mother and grandmothers. I guess people and what's considered 'rude' hasn't changed much.

When he was about 9 or 10, my son complained that it was too difficult to remember what he was and wasn't supposed to do at the table. We finally explained to him "If it makes the guy across the table ill, it's bad manners." He seemed to understand.

I'll have to admit, as I was reading these, I kept having some major mental flashes of some of our favorite characters instructing or being instructed. Mirth and merriment,that's all I'll say.
