I've caught up with the first season of The Venture Bros. and I have 2 & 3 downloaded, so I'll probably get through those this week. They've been pretty gravy & the only downer is that they aren't longer.
My brother's young & limited in conversation topics, but what he talks about, he really enjoys: video games, scary movies, & cartoons (and I think fishing but I hope it's because he doesn't know any better). When I took care of him, we'd share activities & cartoons. I got him hooked on Animaniacs, he got me hooked on Avatar. I haven't had to take care him for quite some time, but I kept watching Avatar & we'd talk about it over the phone, followed by Halo & Max Payne discussions. The Avatar series recently ended, but he doesn't have cable, so I had to send him copies of it to watch on the computer. I highly recommend it, even though it's a child's cartoon & it has some of the usual staples from the kind of epic story it tells. The animation & general style is really good, surpassed only by the mythology they've created, which, like most mythologies, borrows from different cultures. They rarely patronize & it feels complete in its finality, which is kind of rare when it comes to money-making cartoons. It's a shame M. Night Shyamalan is going to ruin it with a live-action movie based on it.
This sketch came out better than expected & is an extension of one I did
earlier. It looks like I didn't ink a part of one of the ties, but I don't think he minds.
