Flipping through his notes, Fuji was pretty certain he'd finish the homework they've gotten on the first day in less than fortyfive minutes, just enough time for him to grab his lunch - a couple of sandwiches - and sit down by the pond to study during the rest of the lunch break, which meant he'd get the evening free. He tucked his books into his Hello Kitty! backpack, ignoring the looks some of the students gave him, and cheerfully made his way out to the pond, took a seat, and started to dig in on the sandwhiches.
Jirou was feeling kind of tired. Class was boring as always, so he decided to go outside and look for a place to sleep. He walked towards the pond and happened to see Fuji sitting there. He walked towards Fuji and greeted him. "Hey, you're Fuji right? What're you doing here?" He asked.
Looking up to see a vaguely familiar boy - maybe he was in his class? Either that or they had spoken over the Internet - Fuji smiled brightly. "That's me. And I'm doing homework~ And you?" It finally clicked in his head. Right. "Akutagawa-kun, is it?"
“Yup, that’s me.” He went to sit next to fuji. “I was looking for a place to relax. Classes made me sleepy.” He looked at the bag Fuji had. “You’re bag is...eh…cute…” He had no idea how else he should describe it. “So, you like that sort of things?”
The honey haired boy gave Jirou a mischieveous grin. "I like all sorts of things, actually. And you~?"
“Hmm…all sorts of things, huh?” Jirou thought for a while, what Fuji could mean with that, and then replied. “I really like shounen manga.”
"Oh?" Fuji's grin widened. "Like what? I think my favorite right now is Children of the Sea. All though I guess it's more of a seinen manga..."
"I especially like those with action." Jirou tried to think of an example. "One like Jojo's Bizarre Adventure."
Fuji raised an eyebrow at that. "Isn't that one like ridiculously long?"
“Well it’s kind of long, but that way you’ll enjoy it longer, right”
"That's true." Fuji chuckled. "But isn't it difficult to keep all the characters straight?"
“Not really.” Jirou took a while to think about it. “Actually it is, but my brother reads the same manga. So, when I forget something, he probably remembers.”
"Well, that's good," Fuji grinned good naturedly, turning his attention back to his sandwich.
Jirou lay down on his back. "The weather's great isn't it?" He asked while looking up in the sky. "I wonder why classes had to start so early."
Yeah... It wouldn't be bad if we were allowed to enjoy this kind of weather a little while longer, nee?
Jirou stared at the honey haired boy for a while. He really looks like a girl, is what he thought. This thought made him feel a little uncomfortable, so he tried to think of something else. “What kind of things do you like to do in this kind of weather?”
"Anything, really." Fuji smiled. "I like the outdoors, I like the wind and the birds singing, and... Yeah. I like to relax, I guess. But it also helps me concentrate, that's why I'm doing my homework out here."
“I see.” Jirou replied. “I also really like it outdoors. If I don’t have any plans, I usually go to some quiet place to relax. In the end I just fall asleep and won’t wake up until night time.”
"Isn't that dangerous," Fuji asked, glancing over at him. "What if someone tries to rob you or something?"
Jirou was surprised by this reply. No one has said such a thing to him in years, so it brought back some memories. "My mother used to tell me the same thing. First I didn't really listen, but then it got kind of annoying. And since it already became a habit, it was hard to stop doing it. I then just decided not to walk around with too much money or other important stuff."
"Other things can happen too, you know," Fuji said softly, his gaze returning to the other boy.
He actually never really thought about other things that could happen. This thought did scare him a bit, but it didn’t bother him that much. “Hmm…I guess I mostly sleep in places where people usually don’t come. And nothing happened yet, so I’m not that worried about it.”
"I wasn't thinking so much of people, you know," Fuji winked cheerfully. "I was more worried about birds and dogs and the like..."
“Eh…” Jirou didn’t no what to say. Birds and dogs and the likes? This guy prefers animals over people. “Well, I guess you’re right. I don’t want animals to be scared or something because of something that happened to me…”
Fuji couldn't help but laugh softly at that, then pointed towards one of the benches, sparsely covered in bird droppings. "I was thinking more along those lines of animal danger~"
“Oh, I see.” Jirou started to get this boy less and less.
Fuji's face lit up in a bright smile at the confused look in the other boy's face. Well, wasn't he just adorable like that? Like a little puppy... Or rather, from the way his hair curled itself around his head, Fuji was more inkled to say sheep. "Say... How come you sleep so much?"
“I don’t know myself.” Jirou tried to think of a reason. “Maybe it’s because I use to much energy once I’m really awake and energetic.”
"I guess that sounds like a possible reason," Fuji mused, idly flipping through his papers. "Oh, by the way, you wouldn't want a sandwich, do you? I won't be able to finish them in time, and it would be a shame to throw some away."
“Thanks, I don’t really like it when food is thrown away.” Jirou took the sandwich the other boy offered him. “This also might keep me awake during class.” He started eating the sandwich.
"Let's hope so," Fuji smiled and dug into his own sandwich as well, while still keeping an eye out on the papers. He was nearly done now, and that was good, because lunch break would be over in five minutes. ...Which meant he probably should prepare getting off to class.
Jirou looked at the papers Fuji had. “You’re almost done? Maybe I should’ve done my homework, too.” He looked at his watch to see what time it was. “I guess we should get going.”
"Well, this homework isn't due until tomorrow, but I like to get things done in good time," Fuji explained, brushing bread crums off his uniform and starting to pack his things together.
“That’s smart.” Jirou was impressed by the other boy. “I always keep things until the last moment.” He started to stand up.
"I knew someone who did that. I made sure not to become like her," the honey haired boy smiled as he headed towards the main building. "Anyway, I'll see you around, Akutagawa-kun?"
“Bye.” Jirou replied. “In the end I didn’t sleep at all” He said to himself. “But I guess I’ll should be going to class, too” And he too walked towards the main building.
