I need to do my taxes and call my mother and -- wait, my country is bombing Libya now? Again?
I feel sick. This happened too fast for an American protest movement to form. And this deserves one, dammit. Does anyone still believe that the people of Iraq or Afghanistan have benefited, on the whole, from our actions there? What is America going to do in Libya? We certainly aren't going to occupy it, we don't have the troops or the money. I'm guessing we're going to drop bombs, funnel arms to the insurgents, and try to bargain for access to Libya's oil with whatever government -- if any -- succeeds the present one. Woo hoo for us.
I think my response to this is going to be to actually plant some fucking vegetables, and grow them with as few high-energy inputs as possible. I'd better get on that, it's already nearly April.
