30 day writing meme, day 2
I'm terrible at days. ;D But this time, totally not my fault! Not even a little bit! (Belated birthday gifts in the form of video games... Yeah, I can't even take responsibility for my actions. Or the 5am bedtime. Or the very-likely-failed math quiz this morning. But that last one probably would've happened anyway.)
UGHKSDHFLSKJDF, okay. I'm gonna use Scott, Quinn's husband because idk, he's the first one I can think of and I really don't want to write about Alex or Laura, who were runners up.
SO, SCOTT. I donno, he's a pretty basic guy. He's big, muscle-y, tall, that sort of thing. Teaches College Writing at Quinn's community college. Parents never divorced, still on good terms. Has some family, but I feel like I leave them out a lot because Quinn's the main character, but I donno, they're sorta fun to write about (especially John ♥, although Margaret has her points too).
I normally feel weird about naming characters after people I know IRL, but Scott's so much different than the RL person he shares a name with, so I don't feel weird about it at all, really. ALSO, I sort of love Scott. I want to get inside his head so badly (because I only see him through Quinn, and he's not exactly one of those characters that's like 'I feel like THIS' and while I always /know/ what's going on inside his head, I so badly want to write from his perspective. (I think it'd totally ruin my hold on him, though, so I haven't.)
Unlike Quinn, he's had a pretty normal upbringing, that sort of thing. Quinn was raised by his grandparents, Scott was raised by his parents. There's probably a, um... I don't remember what it's called, but there really should be a difference in the way they act, probably, because they were raised by different generations and they're sort of backwards, I think, since Scott's always seemed more of the 'hard ass' but then, his parents were more of hardasses than Quinn's grandparents, so, I don't know.
tl;dr: I love Scott and know basically nothing about his past, wooo
