I recall last time we met, you said we'd meet again

WHO: Sally and Sam
WHAT: milkshakes and flying
WHERE: The Arthur and then elsewhere
WHEN: Today!
WARNINGS: IDK there might be some sadness, who knows with these two
SUMMARY: Sam told Sally last week that he'd take her out for milkshakes and flying. Now he's keeping his promise.

The fog that tended to drift across Seattle in the early morning hours fitted Sally's mood. It was almost as though the blanket of sadness that was wrapped around her this month lifted for a few minutes to take over the city streets. She still had no job to wake up for, or even a roommate to accidentally rouse her during the morning hours, but she was always up when the fog rolled in, and she stayed awake until the sun broke through to clear the streets.

She had tried to cheer herself up; forced herself to hang out with Dani and Amara, but nothing really worked. She knew October would be hard. It always was since Avalon had fallen a few years back, but here it cut harder. There was nothing to cling to of Rusty's. No pictures, no makeshift gravestone, and Central Park was thousands of miles away. The fog might be able to clear every morning, but it seemed to Sally that the one that clung around her didn't seem to ever disappear.

She nearly canceled on Sam, but really there wasn't much else for her to do besides sit in her room feeling sorry for herself, and Sally was sick of behaving that way. Instead, she sat on the steps of the Arthur, tucking her hair behind her ears as she waited for him to show up.
