My goodness, I just had a minor panic attack. A doctor from the blood service called me up with a sympathetic-doctor-voice on, wanting to talk to me about my donation last week. As far as I knew, they only did that when there was something wrong. Cue mild panic. Turns out she just wanted to go over YET AGAIN why I was listed as withdrawn the time I fainted at Lancaster. But I'm officially re-instated on the register now. Woo. Panic over.

Other than that, my birthday has been awesome. The night out on Saturday was the best night out I've had in ages, time flew by until suddenly it was 2:30ish and time to go home. And it was lovely that so many people came out. Only one or two of the people who I invited didn't show, and they all had good reasons. It's nice to know that so many people will make the effort to come out with me :-) Today itself has been great too. At truffles they decorated for me, and wrote "Happy Birthday Lucy" on the board, so I was being wished happy birthday by nearly everyone who came in. And I got cards and presents from everyone too. And a birthday sandwich :-D Awesome. I've had cards from lots of people today too, and loads of birthday messages. Think I might do this birthday thing more often....hehe.

This year is ALREADY going much better than last year. Long may it continue!

However, I may be quitting Time Out at some point in the near future. I am FINALLY running out of patience (and growing a backbone somewhat, too). There was a first aid course yesterday which apparently I'd been booked on to. Graeme rang me up at about 1pm asking where I was, as he'd forgotten about it and was trying to get out there. Then, after me feeling very confused, thinking about it for a while and coming to the definite conclusion that the last thing Emma had said to me about it was "There's a 1st aid course running 2 sundays in January, I'm not sure when exactly or where yet", Emma called me too. And then tried to tell me it was MY FAULT that I didn't know about it. Quote "well, I left it so staff would ask me, so I wouldn't forget". Hah. And the difference between her forgetting and me forgetting is...? Aside from the obvious facts that she's in charge, she booked the course AND she saw me 5 times last week and if she'd mentioned it at any time up to saturday morning, I would have made the effort to get out to burnbridge. Not that I actually have a clear idea of where that is. I really dislike the attempts at blame-shifting. If you've made a mistake, admit it and move on. DON'T try and make it out to be my fault instead. Bah. /rant. Unfortunately I need the money or I'd quit first and look for another job second. I think working at truffles just throws into sharp relief with how poor a job time out is. I didn't even get a happy birthday from emma, ever when graeme said it to me right in front of her. I'm quite looking forward to leaving now, actually. well, the handing in my resignation part at least. hehe.

In more exciting news, plane tickets for America should hopefully be booked by the weekend, and the car as well. Awesome. And I shall be going up to newcastle to look at houses some weekend fairly soon. Cannot wait for September now! Or february for that matter - going to see Brand New and going on holiday too. And Hellogoodbye right at the end of January. Life is great!
