Where: The roof / Atobe's room
*
Yukimura had been wandering around, trying to find Sanada. He didn't know for sure where his friend had spent last night, but he was systematically checking all of Rikkai's rooms until he found him. He wanted to see if Atobe had spoken to Sanada yet, as well as let him know the good news about the rooming assignments.
Sanada was still on the roof, brow furrowed, wondering about his strange conversation with Kabaji. It wasn't apologetic -- well, it had been -- but for interesting reasons. He leaned back and looked out over the roofs of the school, feeling bleak inside. He wanted - badly - to apologize to Atobe in return.
Yukimura frowned. Sanada wasn't in any of Rikkai's rooms. He checked the tennis courts, the cafeteria, and finally, thinking that perhaps he could spot Sanada if he had a bird's eye view, he headed to the roof to look.
"Ah! Just the man I was looking for!" Yukimura smiled, spotting Sanada on the roof. "I've been searching all over for you."
Sanada jumped again, turning to see the man that he blamed himself for liking too much. He wondered who else would find him on the roof... "Seiichi." He smiled through less-swolen-than-yesterday eyes. "Strange. Kabaji was just here."
Yukimura's cheerful mood dropped at the mention of Kabaji. He doubted he'd ever forgive that guy for what he did to Sanada. "What did he want?" he asked, with barely contained anger. The only thing that had kept him from going to Kabaji personally was the knowledge that if Kabaji had done that to Sanada, he could probably do worse to him.
"He apologized to me for hitting so hard, although he did not apologize for hitting. I understood why he did so, and did not find it necessary for him to talk to me."
"................" Weird. He'd have thought Atobe would've scolded Kabaji for hitting Sanada at all. "Well. I suppose that's better than nothing. Still. I'm glad to say you won't be rooming with him anymore. I got them to agree to switch around your rooming assignment." Yukimura was trying not to think too hard about the bad things. They wouldn't do any good for him anyway.
"Ah? Who will I be living with?" Interesting. Sanada had the strangest feeling that he was being lifted out of his life, up and away -- a loss of control, and it made him frown just a little, even though he was grateful.
"Mm. That I don't know yet. Probably someone else who's complained about their current roommate. I imagine they'll be announcing the change soon." Yukimura noticed the frown and furrowed his brow a little. "What's wrong, Gen?"
Sanada shook his head -- the thought was unworthy of all that his friend had done for him. "Simply a tiring few days. I am unused to ..." Hm. "So much emotion." His reactions were becoming stranger and stranger. "I put cayenne into Masaharu's miso today," he admitted sheepishly. "Not ... my normal behavior."
Yukimura blinked. Then laughed. So that's what Niou's post had been about. "Oh Gen," he chuckled, patting Sanada's shoulder. "Well, hopefully things will start to settle down, now." Especially since the Agreement, and his and Atobe's decision to attempt to actually not just get along, but be friends.
"Settle down?" Sanada asked a little blankly. "Ahh..." Yes. With Atobe out of his life, he'd be able to do nothing but play tennis again. He felt a little hollow, and leaned on the railing, staring out into space.
Yukimura tilted his head. That reaction...made him think that Sanada didn't know, yet. "Have you spoken with Atobe yet?" he asked, only barely remembering that he hadn't mentioned his intention to speak with the other captain to Sanada.
"-- Not since he broke up with me, no," Sanada said quietly, still staring into the distance. "Not sure when he'll...desire to again."
Yukimura stepped a bit closer, shoulder-to-shoulder with Sanada. It was Wednesday, so, if he went by his Agreement with Atobe, they should either both be here or neither of them, but...it wasn't right to hold to the schedule when Sanada didn't know about it, and besides. Sometimes there were more important things. Still, he was mindful of it. "You should, then. He has something to tell you."
Sanada turned, brow furrowing. "He what? How do you -- ?"
Yukimura smiled. "He and I had a little chat last night. We agreed that he'd be the one to tell you about it, though, so all I'm going to tell you is that you should find him sometime soon. It's good, so don't worry." He wanted to lean in and kiss Sanada's cheek, but at the same time, he didn't want to give too much of a hint at things. ...Not that "sharing" a boyfriend was something people would normally think of...
Sanada stared at Yukimura in blank astonishment. Yukimura - and Atobe - talked, and both were still alive?! His mouth opened, but nothing came out of it.
Yukimura chuckled. "What's that look for, Gen? It's the second time I've spoken with him, after all. He's.......actually not so bad." He still wasn't entirely sure he could go so far as to claim to like the guy, but...there were undeniable similarities that helped him understand Atobe a little better.
Still -- after Atobe broke up with him, surely Yukimura had been angry? Sanada closed his mouth and nodded. "I need to find him, then." He was burning with curiosity. What in God's name had they discussed?
Yukimura just smiled. "Yes, yes you do." Gen would be so surprised... There was, technically, the potential that Sanada wouldn't be happy with the arrangement - or, at least - being left out of it's planning. He hoped Sanada would go along with it, enjoy it, like he was intended to.
"I -- will go find him, then." Sanada was still staring in astonishment. How was Yukimura still --? No bruises on him...what --?
Yukimura grinned and gently pushed Sanada towards the door that led back into the building. "Yes, yes, go." He gave one more shove, hard enough to put a little distance between them, then waved. "I'll see you Sunday!"

Sanada walked in a daze down toward Atobe's room, wondering if he'd be met with a hard left hook. It had been a strange afternoon.
Atobe was tired from a long day of practice and not enough sleep the night before. He'd spent the night thinking of how this was going to work and why he was putting himself through this. This had to be a bad idea. Atobe was sitting at his desk, head resting in his arms when he heard footsteps pause at his door. "It's still open."
Sanada entered and paused, uncertain. "Atobe. May I talk with you? I would like to apologize in person if nothing else."
Atobe's muscles felt reluctant to move but he could hardly hold this conversation with his face down. Atobe turned about in his chair and made gesture he hoped meant Sanada could sit on the bed.
Atobe looked strangely crushed and Sanada felt terrible. Instead of sitting, Sanada went to kneel in front of Atobe like a proper samurai. It felt right. He bowed his head. "I am sorry."
Atobe had the sudden urge to slid down onto the floor and curl up like a cat about Sanada's form, but kept himself rooted to his chair. His Id was misbehaving on him. "Accepted." The bowing was a nice touch though. "I was just about to go looking for you." If one counted "just" as in maybe just before bed, and that would have been if he could have gotten back out of it once he crashed for a nap. Atobe really didn't handle lack of sleep well.
Sanada glanced up, troubled still, frowning just a bit. "Seiichi said that you two spoke. I am...surprised by what he said, that he enjoyed your...company. That..." It was shocking. What were those two doing?
Atobe arched an eyebrow. Well, he supposed Yukimura had enjoyed his company, since he got what he wanted out of his visit. "Nn. We had a talk about you." Atobe rubbed at his face, trying to wake up. "You can get off the floor, though I don't really mind seeing you down there."
Sanada rose and sat on the edge of Atobe's bed, feeling uncertain and awkward. "If you do not wish to talk about it, I understand."
"I'm supposed to talk to you about it," Atobe informed, Atobe slid around in his chair and dropped his head back into his arms there on his desk. He looked Sanada over. The bruises were fading, but they'd definitely been in there. "I'm sorry."
"You have nothing to apologize for," Sanada said firmly, heart aching. He adored Atobe. Wished he could do it again, but better. Wished...he was a different person so that he could.
"Yes I do." Atobe ran his hand through his hair, then glanced on the mirror on his desk to fix it. "I'm sorry about Kabaji, and that I broke up with you over the internet."
Sanada looked down, then away. Was that what Atobe had to say to him? He nodded, not trusting himself to speak, and then said, "You do not need to apologize. I left you in a position where you felt you had to do this."
"Just because I thought you deserved it, doesn't mean I should have done it," Atobe admitted. There were other factors involved, and breaking up with someone over the internet was bad enough without it being the first time some one was getting dumped. Atobe never wanted to be treated that way. He definitely didn't want someone like Kabaji after him either. "What I did was still wrong." Atobe made himself get up from his chair, gave the idea of bowing a very, very brief consideration before just sitting next to Sanada on the bed, their weight making it dip so Atobe slumped against him slightly. "There's more."
Sanada grimly set his jaw, nodding. If there was more scolding, he'd take it -- he deserved it, and Atobe could give him that and more and he'd take it.
Atobe reached a hand up to turn Sanada's face to him and kissed the corner of his mouth. "I wish to . . . withdrawal my previous statement concerning not taking you back." Atobe nearly smirked at how formal he made that sound.
Sanada winced a little when the hand hit a bruise, turning his face to get slapped. Then, he almost fell over backwards when he was kissed instead. "Wh-- wh-- " He was sounding like an owl. "...I..." Sanada wasn't sure what to say, especially because he wouldn't be changing who he was very quickly. "I'm glad," he said swifly, and gripped Atobe's hands in his, clinging tightly.
Atobe smiled, pressed his face against Sanada's shoulder. "And there's still more." Atobe snorted. If this were a drama and Atobe a girl, this would be the 'I'm pregnant' part of the speech. "Oh, there is still more."
"...Oh?" Sanada wasn't sure what was up now. So he had Atobe back, after (apparently) a discussion with Yukimura. Had Yukimura said something along the lines of Sanada and I wouldn't date if we were the last men on earth or ... other lies? He'd have to thank Yukimura for that.
"We talked about how I can't date you if you still want him," Atobe tried to keep his tone serious. He didn't want this taken as a joke. "And that he wouldn't date you if you were hung up on me."
Sanada was thoroughly confused. This meant he was shit out of luck, right?
"So we're going to try to share," Atobe said. "It made sense when we talked about it, but I can't remember how." Atobe shifted so he was pressed against Sanada. "Surprise?"
Sanada felt the blood rush to his head. What? He clamped his hand to his nose and then felt dizzy. No...this was...consciousness completely slipped away from him, and he fell over.
Atobe reached out to keep Sanada from falling off the bed. ". . . Gen?" Atobe shook his shoulder. Nobody had ever passed out on him before. What was he supposed to do, find an adult? Atobe shook his shoulder again. "Genichirou?"
Things were really fuzzy. Darkness, then Atobe's voice. What just happened? The bed was soft around him. Had they been making out? No wait, Atobe broke up with him. No, he was back. No -- Atobe and Yukimura were sharing him. What? It couldn't be. "This is a weird dream."
Atobe laughed, "Are you okay? I never took you for a . . . fainter." Atobe stretched himself out next to Sanada. "Yeah, it's pretty weird. It was his idea."
A fainter. Sanada blushed, which made him dizzy again. He reflexively wound his arm around Atobe and tugged him in. "You two are mad. How long do you think it will last?"
"Not through the week," Atobe admitted. "But I promised to try." Atobe nuzzled against Sanada's neck. "It's worth giving you a second chance anyway."
Sanada turned, holding Atobe and looking at him seriously. "I would be mad with jealousy if I had to share you with anyone. Are you sure? You must be a better person than I am."
"Oh, I'm going to be mad with jealousy," Atobe admitted. "But I know for the other half of the week, Yukimura is going to be. That makes it more fun for me."
"..............." Those two were mad. Sanada looked within, wondering if he had the strength for this game. If he truly ended up falling in love with two men at once, could he stand it if they fought? "...Keigo. I might need time to think about this."
"Of course, it's a lot to take in at once," Atobe agreed. "Do I need to leave you alone?" Atobe had gotten comfortable and was ready to fall asleep just like this.
Sanada found that his arms had tightened around Atobe. "No," he said softly, and curled Atobe into him. "Please don't." He was pretty exhausted from sleeping in various people's rooms, and Atobe's bed was soft. So was Atobe.
"Good, I wasn't going to move anyway," Atobe closed his eyes. "I here you've been room swapping. Get any sleep?"
"I've been terrified of Kabaji," Sanada admitted, and nuzzled into Atobe's soft blond hair. He had a sex god in his arms. How could he not simply say yes? -- Ah, he wanted to make sure it was best for both men. Perhaps a discussion with Seiichi was in order too.
"He won't attack you again. The one time was enough," Atobe said. "He wouldn't even send you many mean looks either." Atobe had trouble not making excuses for Kabaji. He liked that Kabaji followed through with his promises.
Sanada sighed. "Please understand. I hold nothing against Kabaji. I simply do not wish to be in his way if we ever fight again (and considering what we are about to do...)."
Atobe nodded. He'd promise not to sick Kabaji on him again, but he didn't want to confess he was the one who sent him. "Are you switching rooms?"
"I hear that I am?" Sanada laughed -- oh, Seiichi. He'd planned and machinated and connived all this, eh? "I think. I think my answer just became yes. I need someone else to help me deal with Seiichi, or he'll completely take over my life," he said, and kissed Atobe hard.
Atobe groaned softly, suddenly feeling a little less sleepy. "I like being in control. So we'll probably fight over all sorts of things." Most of them would be worthless too. He could already see it.
Plus, Sanada sighed, it wasn't just that he was dating Atobe. And Yukimura. It was kind of like inter-team marriage, as he saw when they'd broken it off. Atobe came with Hyoutei. Oh well. He was tough enough for any minor school (not that he'd ever say that out loud).
Atobe sighed, glad that was over. "Sleep with me?" Atobe was going to be the one passing out if he didn't get some rest.
Sanada's mouth twitched. "How forward," he said, maintaining a straight face. "Luckily I've slept with you before." He pulled Atobe against him, and within seconds was fading out. He was exhausted, mentally and physically and emotionally, and he had a little way to go before he could sort all this in his mind.
