"Well, look who decided to leave his dragon hideaway." She teased, hugging him from behind.

He turned and nuzzled her neck with his scruffy beard as he hugged her back. "Hey, it isn't as if you've been Miss Accessible, yourself. Want a table or are we good here? Lady's choice."
Reply
"Let's get a table, and it's not my fault I'm stealthy. I'd be a terrible Auror if you heard me coming."
Reply
"Table it is. Lead the way, love," he gestured for her to pick their place. "Speaking of Auroring, how's the job treating you these days?" He'd been proud of both Athena and Tonks for being accepted into the program. It was supposedly bloody hard to get in. "Ron's interviewing, did you know? Harry, too."
Reply
Are they really? Well, that's great. They'd make make great Aurors, helping take down the Dark Lord and all."
Reply
"That's what I think. It's Ron's life and it's what he wants to do with it. I've got to admit he's grown up a lot the last year and a half. I wish him luck." He pulled out her chair for her before seating himself, mindful of his manners.
"Since you can't tell me about work, tell me about this Benefit thing you're dragging me to in my best Wizard wear." He waved over one of the servers.
Reply
"Well, it's for the new Minister apparently. I have to go because I work for him and mum would kill me if I didn't put on my best manners and attend. Appearances and all. It's all so political." She made a face.
She hated politics, she just liked arresting people and putting her life on the line for her idea of 'good'.

Charlie winced, "I suppose it would be bad form to go to a fund raiser with my professional face on and try to find a few sponsors for some specialized research I can't afford on the Research budget I have. Oh well, dancing with you will hardly be a chore, love. Are they feeding us at this shindig or do we need to grab a bite first?"
Their drinks were delivered and Charlie took a long pull of his pint before leaning back in his chair to the admire the view. Merlin knew how she did it, but Attie kept getting cuter and cuter the older she got, and Charlie Weasley wasn't the sort of bloke who failed to appreciate the charms of his female friend just because she was a friend. "What else have you been up to?"
Reply
"For the money mum's dishing out, they'd better be feeding us. If not, I say we drink and leave, get her mad with me." She teased.
Athena took a drink, watching him. He certainly did look good. A bit scruffy, but it wasn't her place to try and make him clean it up. "Well, not much. I've been working a lot, and trying to spend time with Teddy, have to make sure he knows stories about his mum after all. I think Andromeda might get sick of me soon.
I suppose I should go out and try and meet blokes or something, but I find most of them bore me to death."
Reply
Charlie laughed, "You can blame me for being a bad influence on you. We scruffy dragon boys have no manners at all." He had excellent manners. He just didn't give them a lot of exercise.
"Give her my regards, will you? I should try to find time to stop by and see the tyke. That hair of Teddy's is amazing," Charlie grinned.
"Of course you do. Not everyone leads as exciting a life as us. Auror Girl and her trusty sidekick Dragon Boy are a tough act to out do. Maybe we'll find you someone unboring at the Bells. If not, you can always come home and snuggle up with me," he winked. "You know I'm always good for a cuddle."
Reply
She gave him a smile. "I will do. That kid needs as many people in his life that love him as he can get," she said a bit sadly.
"Well, a girl does like cuddling. A good shag is always good too." She winked. "I don't think we'll find anyone at the Bells' who will be good for either of those though."

Charlie growled, the word shagging falling from her lips sounded obscene and so very hot. He had to remind himself firmly why messing around with Athena McGonagall was bad news. Not only because her mum was who she was, but Attie was exactly the type of woman most likely to undo all the hard work he'd put into to keeping himself unattached. He doubted she'd be happy with a friends with benefits type of arrangement, which was all he'd ever be prepared to offer. No, it was better to avoid offering himself up for a shag where Athena was concerned. He liked the idea of falling asleep holding her though, with all those luscious curves pressed up against him all night long.
"So what is this party benefiting?" Charlie asked to take his mind off soft females with fit bodies sleeping beside him.

She took another drink and looked around the bar. She really wished she wasn't so picky when it came to men, but she was, Charlie Weasley was a lost cause, she knew that, but part of her would always hope, which was what held her back. That, and most of them did genuinely bore her out of her wits.
"So... tell me more good things about me."
Reply
Charlie laughed. "More good things. Hm... let me see..." He pondered for a moment then launched in. "My love is like a red, red rose, that's newly sprung in June. As fair thou art, my bonnie lass, so deep in love am I, and I will love thee still, my dear, till a' the seas gang dry. In other words, you are one fit bird, Athena McGonagall. Stop tempting me to snog you senseless," he winked.
"Seen much of Percy, lately?" He wondered how he was. "I need to write him this week."
