Theodore had just gone to take a set of files of the previous year's records to Archiving, which was a long circuitous route from his office, and on the way back, went through the lobby. To his surprise and pleasure, Mrs. Malfoy was on her way out. No time like the present, then.

"Mrs. Malfoy, it's nice to see you again. I do hope you're well, and not using our facilities?" He said, essaying a polite bow as he kept his smile light and pleasant.

"I am very well, Theodore. I have been working with the Friend's of St. Mungo's on a project. How are you, dear?" He was such a polite young man.

"I'm quite well, thank you. I was wondering if I, uh, might be able to discuss something in private with you." Now that he was talking to her, nerves were assailing him. He stiffened his spine and kept his eyes level. Never show fear.

Ah, the Slytherin posture. Narcissa wondered what it was he might wish to discuss that he felt he needed to project an aura of strength. "Of course. Do you have an office or should we go up to the tea room?" He'd piqued her curiosity.

"The tea room. My office is a bit of a shambles at the moment." He'd pulled old files to start the process of pairing healers and patients for Percy, and it took up a lot of room.

When they arrived at the tea room, Theodore ordered a pot for them both, and got straight to the point. "Mrs. Malfoy, I was wondering if you'd heard of a new organization that's come about. I believe it calls itself Sins of the Fathers?" He wouldn't admit to affiliation until he knew where her feelings lay.

"Yes, I have heard of it. A rather unfortunate name, in my opinion, however I was not consulted," Narcissa stated.

"I am not versed in their mission or affiliated with them in any way, if you are interested in finding out anything about them, Theodore." She poured out the tea.

"Yes, well, it rather cuts past pretense, doesn't it?" He said, somewhat inanely, not quite sure where to go from there.

"I've done some research, and it appears that they're interested in maintaining magical equity, since all to often relatives or loved ones who did Voldemort's bidding are being mistreated as a result of that affiliation." He kept his tome even, almost indifferent. He wouldn't give away too much to soon.

"Do you think so?" she asked. "Tell me, what do you think of when you hear the name Sins of the Father?" Narcissa was always curious about people's reactions.

"Interesting," she said as she offered him his cup. "Do you believe the organization sees this mistreatment as coming from those in power or from the general populace? Do you agree with their position, Theodore?" Narcissa added lemon to her tea but took hers with no milk.

"Well, there's a muggle saying to do with it, isn't there? Sins of the Father become the sins of the son? Not the most pleasant of connotations, but being my father's son, I can't say it isn't an accurate reflection of the past year." He met her gaze levelly. Indeed, Paul Nott's behavior was a lot to make up for.

"I think it would be a combination. Minister Shacklebolt was a lot of things, but prejudiced wasn't one of them. I've experienced some difficulties from various persons in power, but fortunately, have the wherewithal to work the system to my advantage. People like the Goyles, however..." He trailed off, letting the example stand for itself. She knew what he meant. They weren't sharp, or patient, and would have infinite trouble with certain departments.

"Frankly, I can't see it doing any harm. And I believe the intent is good. If they succeed in re-educating the populace in matters of equity, then I wouldn't have to send Anastasia to France, now would I?" He said, spooning a sugar cube into his tea and drinking it dark.

"There are several and of conflicting meaning," she replied. "Do you feel you have been treated unfairly, Theodore? Do you feel that people expect you to pay for your father's crimes or do you disagree that your father committed crimes in the first place?" Narcissa was very curious about his feelings on that ( ... )

"If I let people, I am sure I would be, yes." Theodore said plainly, meeting her gaze. "Fortunately, it hasn't come to that, but unfortunately, neither I nor pureblood detractors at large believe it won't come to that, regardless of my opinions on my father's actions. I am, after all, not my father, and I have a clean forearm to show for it." It was a very slight dig, since Narcissa was asking a lot of him with no commitment to an equal cause ( ... )

"Fortunate, indeed." The remains of the Dark Mark forced upon Narcissa was clearly visible on her arm. Narcissa Black Malfoy never bothered to hide it, much to her husband's frequent consternation, and now it stood out plainly as she lifted her teacup to her lips. She was not entirely sure what to make of Theodore's response. He seemed not to have entirely made up his own mind where he stood ( ... )

"Frankly, I don't know." He said slowly, sipping his tea. "I want to be as prepared as possible, and given what SOF is willing to do to help me with that, it's an offer I'd be a fool to refuse ( ... )

Narcissa did not approve of this Sins of the Father organization. She understood its ostensible purpose might be equity, however Narcissa was not convinced that was its real goal. She remembered that Lord Voldemort had ostensibly been seeking an adherence to tradition and re-education of the populace as well. Theodore had not even been born when the Dark Lord began his first rise to power, so he was unfamiliar with the man's earlier tactics. His first rise had not begun with force and aggression, but smooth, charismatic rhetoric, a spirit of goodwill, and even mutual back scratching ( ... )

Theodore was a bit startled by the invitation, but he hid it, looking thoughtful instead. "I thank you for the invitation, Mrs. Malfoy. Yes, I think that would be a fair compromise. Oh, and before I forget." He reached into his robes, and pulled out a small quill and parchment, scribbling quickly. "My aunt's direction. She's been a bit preoccupied with Anastasia, but I did pass on your regards, and she was most pleased that you remembered her." And had pumped him for more details than he could give, which was why he wanted to cut himself out as the middle man for the two women.

He stood, leaving the appropriate coinage for their tea, bowing to Mrs. Malfoy. "I thank you again, Madam, for hearing me out. I look forward to seeing you and your husband to discuss this further."
