Still finding sparkles in my hair....

From dressing up last night.  Wow, you shoulda been there!  Ok. Anyone who knows me knows that I have a couple of Wench costumes, but what you don't know is that I found the most beautiful red and black bustier/corset thing that I wore yesterday with my skirt and chemise.  Top it off with my fabulous red and black heavy satin cape and viola, it's Little Red Riding Hood.  Ok, OK, so the cape doesn't have a hood.  So sue me.

The boys and I came into Toronto and went trick-or-treating with Liz, Caitlin, Alyssa and mom.  Alyssa was dressed as Hermione Granger (if you don't know who that is then you are even more out of it than I am!); Caitlin borrowed a shirt from her dad's friend on the TTC, added a tail and horns and went as the Bus Driver From Hell; the Cow costume I made for Caitlin 6 or 7 years ago made a return with Colin in it and Riley wound up in the Frog Prince costume I made for Colin two years ago.  Liz declined to wear her witch outfit (the hat kept getting snagged), and mom showed up in the long black robe she made for dad a couple of years ago (trailing on the ground everywhere she went) but it was never really decided what she was dressed as.  Some suggestions were: a Death Eater, a Grim Reaper, and a Black Rider.

So we all went tramping off into the night for an hour and a bit, until we had enough junk food to last a while and mom's knees were tired.  Then I put the boys into the car and took them over to the condo so grandma could watch them for me while my friend Faisal and I went to the Hallowe'en showing of Carnival Diablo (http://www.carnivaldiablo.com/).  Is it wrong to enjoy the sight of a man lighting a torch with the electric current coming off his tongue while he's being electrocuted?  If so, then I am a bad, bad girl.  Someone please spank me?  Anyway, the show was FABULOUS, even if Istvan the Sword Swallower and Jason the Impaler weren't there.  The rest of the show went just fine without them; we saw the Countess Vanessa eat crickets and worms, and jump on broken glass.  Not walk on, JUMP on.  We saw Lascivious Lulu attacking her steel chastity belt with an angled grinder, lying on the bed of nails and having a cinder block smashed with a sledgehammer while it was sitting on her stomach.  Strongman Sinn (he's a pro wrestler too, go look at his website http://www.theoriginalsinn.com/news.php) did some crazy stunts, bending iron bars with his teeth, having darts thrown into his back, being electrocuted for our pleasure.  And of course, we can't forget the emcee, the Man In Charge, Mr Nikolai Diablo himself.  He was a lot of fun, doing slight-of-hand and talking a good patter. I have to say, this was the neatest show I've seen in a long time. and that was only the beginning.  After the show, out came Faze the Puppet, and as the crowd left we were allowed to stay and do some interviews with the performers.  Who were, by the way, all most generous with their time and agreed to the interviews readily.  Super nice bunch of people, and I was surprised that I recognized Lulu from Ed the Sock's Night Party show; she was one of the background dancers there when Faze had his turn in the frigid Hot Tub (the heater wasn't working that night), and she recognized him too.  Amazing!!

I have to say that it has been a wild and wooly ride working with Faisal on the webshow, and I have seen things and people I never would have seen if not for him and Faze.  So thanks very much, Fai, for accepting my help and taking me to meet all those neat people!  Unfortunately his computer has frelled up again, and he's not able to upload the episodes which he's been editing, but hopefully it will be healthy again soon.

For any of you out there who know wrestling, we also saw Jake the Snake Roberts and the Edge at the Carnival, but we didn't interview them, they were just there enjoying the show.  Wow how neat is that?
