A few of you might find this of interest.
One of my hobbies is archery. I shoot longbow and crossbow, and I am a nationally certified archery instructor, with over 25 years experience as a participant in the sport.
Last weekend I participated in a small local archery tournament. There were ten participants in the open class, for longbows and recurves, and three in the crossbow class. I was entered in both.
I won both divisions.
In other news, my employer has given up on moving me to the East coast. I'm rather glad about that, as I really couldn't afford the cost of living in the area they wanted me to move to. On the other hand, that leaves me still stuck in Texas.
Finished the commission for Kabbalist, and I am *still* working on one for Yao Chi. All those scales and feathers! Not to mention the colors! Gah! It's developing, but very slowly.
My dog, Titan, has started draft training. That means pulling carts and wagons. He's taking to it like a duck to water. By the second weekend he had already graduated to working entirely off-lead, and was maneuvering through obstacle courses with his cart without ever touching the sides of the course. His instructor is even impressed, and Dick has been training dogs for decades and is very hard to impress. Sometimes I swear the ghost of my old dog, Crusader, is padding along beside Titan, telling him what all the commands mean and what to do. With just a couple sessions of training he is already as good as some dogs that have trained a year or more.
