recently got an induction stove, sleek, shiny black and small enough that it fits wonderfully with my tiny rice cooker and my tiny studio apartment. it doesn't take five minutes after pressing the on button to actually start heating, unlike my old electric stove, and oh lols i can't believe i'm so happy about something like this but you guys have no idea how many times i've been late because of that darned stove. (it even has individual types of heating for hotpot, frying, braising, and boiling. hotpot! ^q^)

while we're on the topic of kitchen appliances, what's the last recipe you guys have learned? ^^ recently learned how to make this dish called laing, which is taro leaves cooked in coconut milk, with some other things like ginger and shrimp paste. it's really, really spicy and tastes better than it sounds, lol. (and looks, i swear. it has the propensity to look like the grass you just freshly mowed off your lawn.)
