Why I Hate Winter

Jul 22, 2010 09:54

I hate winter.

I really do.

The only redeeming thing about winter is the cute scarves I get to make and wear and the fact that I love the look of layers...oh and I can wear boots.

My fingers and toes are still numb from my 7 minute walk from the train station to work. According to the two gossiping old ladies in the elevator this morning, oh my word, it was 6 degrees at that moment in time. My all knowing manager claims it is because of the snow in the "Alps"

Yay -_-

Onto other more exciting news - I finally got my tax return done last night!

Bronwyn McSheepy Harris did indeed come over and we did indeed go out to dinner. We both had chicken schnitzel (though she doesn't have any gravy at all on hers...she's so weird).

Sidenote: I'm so glad Jimmy has been eliminated from Master Chef. I was devestated to see Marion and Jonathon go, and I was sad when Courtney and Alvin left, but I'm super excited that Jimmy left. I never liked him or his curries! It would have been very sad to see Claire, Adam or Callum (all very good cooks) get eliminated over Jimmy who can cook one thing.

Back to Tax Return - I'm excited about the tax return because it means I can finally get my laptop fixed AND/OR buy a new one :D

There was, as usual, a drama involved with lodging the stupid thing. I lost my Notice of Assessment from last year, which you need to prove your identity. The thing is, I keep all my "important documents" in a green folder...which it was not in.

I started searching through the random papers on the rest of my bookshelf - not there.

McSheepy asks - "Is it in that pile on papers on the third shelf?
I tell her no and continue the search.

I look in the pile of papers shoved between my instruments and the bookshelf. Not there.

I search in the pile of papers shoved under my bed. Not there.

I search in my suitcase which is full of papers and other misc items. Not There.

I search in the box I keep my CD's and other misc paper in. Not There.

At this point I feel like crying because I just want to lodge my tax return, darn it, and I decide, in a last ditch attempt, to check the pile of papers McSheepy so kindly pointed out at the beginning of my frantic search.

Which is where the stupid NoA was the entire time!

Lesson learnt: McSheepy Harris is always right.

She then measured me for my cloak...by this time it was midnight and I fell asleep not long after :D

I'm meeting my Dad today for lunch. This will be first time I've seen him since last year - almost to the day. My dad is hopeless at keeping in contact with people and I too am hopeless at keeping in contact with people, so...we never keep in contact. I hope it goes all right...though I'm quite sure he'll just want to know the same 3 things he always wants to know

1: Why haven't you lost more weight?
2: Why haven't you got a boyfriend yet?
3: Why aren't you in uni?
