Loved the repetitive structure of 'Let me show you', with each revelation bringing something new into their relationship (or breaking it, as with the last revelation of the engagement ring). Beautifully done, highly literate, hot, hurting and just WONDERFUL. I loved this, my dear, and you pushed all my buttons--underaged sex, innocent virgins, covertly aggressive older siblings, betrayal, lust, beauty, heartbreak.
Narcissa is done just wonderfully--ice and alabaster indeed, but few would guess what secrets she hides. Andromeda was brilliant--I could see how things turned out in canon, watching you unfold her (in more ways than one!) in your story. I can see how the Blacks must have been determined to burn her out of their family tapestry. A rebel in so many ways--alas, that rebellion did not go over to Narcissa, although I think that if it weren't for Andromeda's husband, Narcissa might have considered running away with her.
That's what makes this heartbreaking. And uncertain. And beautiful.
