Today was a day that just ended up getting derailed. I hate it when that happens. In this case, I was supposed to have lunch with my friend Leigh Ann. But Becca had a sore throat last night and woke up with it this morning. She seemed miserable enough Dave decided to keep her home and make an appointment for her with the doctor this afternoon. By the time she woke up on her own about 10 am, she was starting to feel better.
You would have thought she was dying last night. I really don't think my kids know how to be sick. They have been lucky in that they have rarely been sick, ever. Becca has had one ear infection her whole life. A stomach bug or two. But nothing serious. So when they do get sick, they think they are dying. Dave doesn't know how to react to the kids being ill, so tends to either blow it off, or totally over react.
Anyway, lunch was canceled. Becca and I had a quiet day at home. She definitely perked up as the day went along. I decided to go ahead and keep the appointment with the doctor anyway. Dr. Pat checked her out and it turns out that the sore throat was a result of her allergies. We put her on some nose spray and a pill to try and regulate the allergies better. Ouch, that was expensive.
In the evening, Dave and I went to buy a new refrigerator. Ours has been dying for a few months and in general just hasn't been working well enough to meet my demands for months. Sears had an incredible deal on the Trio, Freezer on the bottom version, that I have been wanting since they first came out. We ordered it and it will be delivered on Saturday. Even the manager at the little local Sears we went to was impressed with the deal we got. Have to feel good about that. Pays to research what you want...
Plenty to do around here, trying to decide about a meeting tomorrow night. Its going to be 2 hours away from the house, so I am thinking probably not a great idea.
