Dover Castle Rocked!
I got to see some larping friends for food and company, which was extra nice as I recently posted on the Bears boards that my LTing days are pretty much done now. Never say never, but life and finances are just making LT events an issue and I need to start clearing my head of things rather than trying to hang onto everything.
Part of the issue is the distance, so maybe I'll find some more local events to entertain me.
The other option, if I'm succesful in my plan and get accepted by companies that do historical events, I can get paid for pottering about in character and costume! :) That would probably satisfy the need I have to dress up.

My hubby bought me a Kindle, after someone had offered to get me one on a low payment plan I could afford. I really am very very lucky and possibly ever so slightly spoilt!
I adore the Kindle, it was so lovely wandering around Dover Castle with it, being able to sit and read anywhere without hauling a huge hardback around with me. It's easier to stop and start reading and just easier to read as you don't need both hands or to strain fingers holding the pages apart.

New job started Tuesday morning and it's very scary as I know nothing! I don't even know enough to know what I don't know! It will be a very steep learning curve (learning cliff!!) as I move through the next couple of months, but I'm looking forward to the challenge. As it's mostly just Leo (my Team Leader) and myself in charge of our team, we kinda know where we need to end up and by when and are now working out what the steps are to get there. It's really nice having so much autonomy within the Princes Trust structure that's been around and refined for many years. I also have just 2.5 hours in the morning this week before heading back to my old reception post. I start full time next week.

So that's it for now, a new phase of my life has begun and we shall see where it leads me.
