So, I'm back from Philly. It was definitely a ton of fun! The place that we volunteered at all week was awesome....it really is a great organization, and I truly respect them for the work that they do. If you wanna read more about them, just go to this website: www.mannapa.org
As for all the touristy stuff, we sure did do a lot! We started out the trip by stopping in Hershey, PA, and let me tell you, that really is the "sweetest" place on earth! I loved it there! Once in Philly, we went to the Liberty Bell, Indepence Hall, saw the Articles of Confederation, Constitution, & Declaration of Independence. We went to Pat's & ate Philly cheesesteaks (which are actually pretty good!), and even ran the Rocky stairs (the ones that Rocky runs up in the movie)! They're at the Philadelphia Museum of Art, which is gigantic, and they have a little plaque at the top of the stairs that says "Rocky" with his footprints. We went to Atlantic City one night, which was absolutely awesome! Walking along the Atlantic Ocean at night in the winter...priceless! Plus, that city is just awesome! Pretty much the "Vegas of the East Coast". We went to a couple of casinos, but I decided not to play the slots :( Oh well, I probably would've lost money anyways!
So now it's back to reality. Classes are starting to get really hectic with projects, papers, etc., but I'm doing good so far. I think I have all A's and one BA right now, so I guess I can't complain! I have that conference to go to at MSU next weekend, and that'll definitely be a good experience I'm hoping. Mallory & I have been working on getting our presentation in tip-top shape for that. We don't want to be embarrassed in front of professionals.
I'm going home tomorrow, and I'm very excited! I haven't been home for more than 24 hours since Christmas Break, so it will really be nice to be there for a few days. I originally wasn't planning on coming back early on Sunday, but I have to do this interview with one of the kids at my work on Sunday night, so I have to be back here by 6pm now. Kind of a bummber, especially since my only class on Monday got cancelled, but oh well. I'm still happy to be going home & seeing my family & my puppy. I have a lot to do when I'm there, so I'm not sure how much of a break I'll really get, but at least it's something.
Alrighty, time for some homework & packing up for home before my man gets out of his meeting & I get to see him tonight! :) Almost 6 months baby....and I couldn't be happier! :)
