Okay, so I feel like Eloise ("Oh my Lord I am absolutely so busy I don't know how I'm going to get everything done"), and I have to go to a party in a little while, and I have all kinds of exciting news to tell you BUT:
I FOUND AN ANTHOLOGY CALL FOR SUBMISSIONS FOR SHORT SF WITH FAT FEMALE PROTAGONISTS, SEPTEMBER 30TH DEADLINE. ALL Y'ALL GET ON THAT SHIT. I'MMA GET ON THAT SHIT MAYBE.
OK, so admittedly payment is token ($10 flat for 2,000-6,000 word stories, so 1/6 to 1/2 cents/wd) but if this press (
Cross Genres) is at all in line with their mission statement (to publish progressive speculative fiction! right there! up front!) then maybe I'll give it a shot. They look very new as a publisher (they do Crossed Genres magazine, apparently) but reasonably professionally put together. If you're interested in this antho as a fan, you can also
follow it on Twitter. Even if you're not interested in writing for token payment, it's the kind of book I think #twowholecakes might be interested in.
Back once I get home to Nashville, with more news and more excellence. Love y'all. Squee about THE GLORY I HAVE JUST TOLD YOU TO BEHOLD in comments if you care to.
